It's was going to happen eventually with the poor saturn getting pushed away by the PS1 so easily then the N64 came and Sega finally gave up with it. Now that they learned their lessons Sega finally released the DC.
They finally got it right with their release, but still the minor number of people didn't buy it in the end.
Because of the Saturn the DC suffered as well.
The N64 and PS1 and PS2 gave too much work for sega to do.
Although it had major success with it's big name games like MSR and ShenMue it still couldn't cope with huge losses, and low sale rates. Sadly they have decided to work for sony, although rumours raised their stock rate they still opted to work for Sony anyway.
But if they had joined Nintendo in the first place this gaming market would of kept Sega high up there.
Sounds like a bit of a weak excuse to me?...
