Does anyone have a Worcester 24CDI boiler. The ignition light has just gone out on mine and i don't know how to turn the thing back on and can't find a web site which tells me how to do it either.

Any help guys and galls?

Well after some severe worrying that i'd have to pay hundreds of pounds to get it fixed, I called one company who said they'd come and fix the problem and give the boiler a service, the charge £80. Mind you they didn't come until today which meant no heating yesterday butstill what a rip off some gas/central heating repair men are.

I was quoted anything from £75 per hour plus £85 for a service to £55 per half hour plus £90 for a service. Goes to show what shopping around does.

The problem? The filling loop was low on water meaning the pressure had dropped to zero bars which was causing problems with air and water flow!

How long to fix it? Well we needed a filler key which the guy said if i wanted to nip out (while my missus stayed there so he didn't nick anything...just in case) and get one, he'd do the service. The cost of the key £6.93 inc. V.A.T. All in all he was there an hour including the service, but to fix the actual problem...about 8 minutes!

Panic is over...well for me anyway!

That's the weirdest question I've ever had thrown at me.

1. read the instruction manual - Previous owners didn't leave one

2. call the shop where u got it - Already there when we bought the gaff

3. call the makers - It's after 5pm on a friday and they won't be open until mon, then they would probably just tell you to call out a plumber
