Now then. While there may be more to do in Iraq, more fighting etc, the result, while maybe a while away, is pretty much a foregone conclusion.

But. The Coalition has to tread an incredibly careful path now. Get the Iraqis into power, not any US or UK people. Get the oil fields working for Iraq, not the US or UK. Just keep the people pleased, and make sure the wider Arab world sees it too.

None of that US flag buisness please.

Iraqis have been cheering the downfall of Saddam

'We don't want him anymore!' All well and good.

'We don't want to be occupied people' - I.e American gov.

Wonder which one will be listened to....

Indeed, to oust Saddam and then abandon Iraq would be worse than not intervening at all.
