The year 2036:
Wookiee Monster goes into the Post Office to collect his pension, whilst walking back to his hovercar, he passes a store he has not been into for a very long time:
"Why it's Electronics Boutique! I had no idea that this shop still existed! What's that poster in the window, 'MGS2 Son's of Liberty' available now! At long last....."

Okay, maybe not *that* long...
Daily Radar should get their facts straight.
MGS2 has NOT been delayed, I dunno why people were expecting it so early when Konami at the last trade show in September made it perfectly clear that MGS2 was a "year away". September/October.
And now this idea that MGS2 has been "put back" to late 2001??? Erm, hello???
I recall at the time journalists taking interest in the coincidence that MGS2 (viewed as the PS2s "killer ap") would appear just before the X-Box was expected (at that time) to appear in europe.
So go figure. Delayed but still on schedule.

its the same thing happening with final fantasy X in japan. they have put the release date to coincide with the launch of Gamecube. July i think.
MGS2 is just *a* game on the PS2. Hell it isn't even that yet, in a few months it will at least be a *demo* on the PS2.
It is unlikley that Nintendo and Microsoft moved their entire production schedule to accomodate MGS2...and untrue since Microsoft can't even make 2001.
Anyway, by the time MGS2 sees a launch on the PS2, it will seem like old hat in comparison to what will already be available on the platform. It only seemed so crash hot because at the time MGS2 was unveiled, nobody had seen much of anything else on the Playstation.
There are plenty of other cool and worthy (some might argue more worthy) games to come out. Sneak'em'ups and ninjathons are not everybodys cup of tea.
Games like GT3, Ace Combat 4 and Silent Hill and many more are just as impressive if you want to see your SONY silicon performing wonders. And you won't have to wait as long.
Many people, I'm sure, purchased their machines on the promise of MGS2 (expected fall 2001) myself included. Somethings are worth waiting for.
