Now, according to a report from Daily Radar UK - Nintendo won't be letting Sega develop for the Nintendo GameCube. Are Nintendo really this stupid?
If they want to help bury the GameCube before it hits the shelves, they're doing a might fine job of it at the moment. Nintendo will need all the developer support they can get, especially with the fiasco that plagued the Nintendo 64. Is it me, or will this be deja vu all over again?
You can harp on about your Zelda's and your Mario's and your Samus Aran's till your blue in the face, we all know they're going to be AAA classics, but the fact of the matter is, if Zelda or Mario couldn't shift units, what makes Nintendo think it'll be any different this time round? Nintendo CANNOT support the GameCube on it's own. Surely, the Nintendo 64 was proof of that.
Sega aren't just *another* company, I mean, the prospect of Sonic Team working with Shigeru Miyamoto is mouth-watering to say the least. And to pass up an opportunity to work with Overworks, Smilebit or Sonic Team - then for me, it's case of Nintendo being arrogant yet again and not learning from their mistakes from past endeavours.
Nintendo are their own worst enemy! Will they ever learn?

Do you mean like what I've just said about the PS2 :)
Especially with Sony on the market place, I cant see Nintendo accepting SEGA...
Although they do seem to like to 'own' game titles, and may not be too happy about the same title being avalible on several machines?
But they've been fierce rivals for nearly 2 decades now, it's gonna be hard for Nintendo to forget all those years of animosity. It would be nice to see them take a 'forgive and forget' attitude, but I don't think it will happen overnight.
And could you see the GameCube and the XBox both releasing Sonic Adventure on the same day?
At least if Nintendo do turn their backs on Sega, they've always got....
the handle.
The stong like between Nintendo's new games machines should signal this. And plus like Meka said, there are already lots of developers, I wouldn't worry for now...
The Gamecube will come good...

It's always worth posting rumours that we hear for a couple of reasons:
1: It can lead to some interesting discussions.
2: If it happens to be true, you can say 'I told you so!'

Remember that the company that own Daily-Radar are currently involved in a dispute with Nintendo, regarding DR's online guides, and DR.com aren't printing any Nintendo news until it's resolved.
I wouldn't be surprised if they posted a rumour, just to get up Nintendo's nose.
Nintendo have signed up considerably more developers for the GCN than they ever had for the N64, and everyone knows that Sega make great games. They would be foolish to not get Sega to develop games for their console!
Maybe it has something to do with Nintendo's like of having exclusive games, and the fact that Sega are more likely to port their games to all current platforms, if their intention is to become a games only company.
I think we really need to wait until the further announcements from Sega, before we really know what's going on!
