"Video games you would want to be films??"

I know that this subject has been discussed somewhere before but thought it would be best discussed in this forum!!

What video games would you want to see made into movies??
With Tomb Raider already in production and several others like Final Fantasy, Shenmue and Resident Evil what games would make great movies? Im curious about Tomb Raider, it actually sounds alright. Final Fantasy looks amazing and I am sure Shenmue will be worth a look, but I dont hold out much hope for Resident Evil - I just have a feeling that it will be a total disaster!!

I would personally like to see Dino Crisis made into a film. The two games are brilliant and have great plots to them and I am sure they would do justice to the big screen. After enjoying Jurassic Park 1 and 2 it would be great to see another Dinosaur 'action/horror' movie enter the scene.

The Tomb Raider film is now due for release,plus the Final Fantasy and Resident Evil series of games are also being made into films!

I think Resident Evil will make a great Horror, but Ive no idea how the Final Fantasy film will turn out!

Sounds excatly like Frogger2001 intro FMV.... your future job awaits! :)

You only have to look at the intro to that game to see theres easily enough storyline to make a movie adaption, it would be a great Gooder (Still a bit evil) vs Evil horror movie!

i thought that that 'Hannibal' Advert (you know the one with Anthony Hopkins Red-eyed face) was an advert for Resident Evil the film for about a month. ah man, i havent even played it yet but, Phantasy Star Online, ohh my, that would be a great fiLm, and how about Quake, get Steve Buski (the guy from fargo, Resovoir dogs, Con air...) to be the hunky gun handler!!!

I think they should make a film out of Deus Ex. The game itself was really class and it had a good plot with interesting gameplay. The only problem i can think of is how you convert the parts of the game controlled by you into something entertaining that doesn't show a bloke wearing sunglasses (even at night) in a baggy coat killing baddie, after baddie, after baddie.....well you get the idea.
Metal Gear would also make a good film. Russell Crowe would make great Solid Snake. Especially after seeing him in Gladiator. But which of the Metal Gears would you make into a film? Or would you do what Square have done with the Final Fantasy film and make a new story line.
That can also be a problem with converting games into films. If you have played the game and the film is like the game then the people who have played the game will know what will happen.....did that make sense?

Dead or Alive .... this film could reverse the trend that movies of computer games are always poor, with an all star cast including Cameron Diaz, Tyra Banks, Sandra Bullock, Liv Tyler, Carmen Electra, Teri Hatcher etc.... well you get the idea! Ild watch it!

Chrono Trigger had a really cool story, so I'd enjoy a film based on that.

But I really think that that FPS for the N64 would make a good film, you know the one, Goldeneye......
