Making my revision timetable tonight starting Monday. I need some help by tomorrow.

Well, basically. I was thinking because I get in at 2:30. Revise from 3:30 to 5:30, then eat, then go out or do whatever I wanted.

3:30-5:30, revise for an hour each on 2 different subjects, splitting the hours up into either 30mins with 10min brakes. Or 15mins with 5min brakes.

Or should I revise at a later time? Or does it not make a difference? Or, I could revise that and then go over my notes in the evening sometime for about 15mins?

Any help would be great thanks.

Ok I've decided on 2 hours a day. 2 different subjects for an hour splitting them up into 20min periods with 5min brakes. Right.. between 3:30-5:30 sounds good to meh. Well, if I'm busy or whatnot then it'll be some other time but ssh.

So, for rotating stuffs.

I wont revise for RE until the last few night before it so no worries about that. French I find extreamly difficult and can only get a D maximum because I didn't do any coursework. So, i'll revise for that like once a week if I can.

So that leaves 6 subjects. Maths, ICT, GCSE PE, Electronics, Science English.

Just do Maths ICT on the first day (Mon) , GCSE PE Electronics (Tues) on the second, Science English on the third? (Wed) then carry on with Maths ICT on Thurs and so on.

Then on Sunday I can go over stuff I didn't like very much.

Ahem. Views on this?

Sorry to be a pain but its my GCSE's :o)

I done 2 hours of revision each night, 1 hour for each topic. I allocated time for each subject based on how difficult i found them and how important they were to achieving my goals. Basically what i done was write down notes for everything, and then kept reading and re-reading what i wrote.

Then after about 2 weeks of this start working your way through the past exam papers which are an ESSENTIAL purchase, it dosnt really matter which years they cover, so long as you use them you will find them invaluable. Especially since A LOT of the questions are re-used with only slight or no modifications.

If you are writing on the actual past papers, use a pencil, so that you can rub out your answers and go through the whole thing again. By the time the exams come you should be brimming with confidence, i know i was.

Well hrm. Some useful stuff there. Apparently I'm a kinestetic (sp)learner but I have to be moving and stuff anyways.

Anyhow. I'm really not sure how to do this now. Seeing as I have never really revised properly before, I dont know how I like to revise or anything. I think I can do 2hrs including brakes on two different subjects. But you peoples suggest I start with only doing one subject for an hour a night?

Only got 6 weeks till my exams peoples. I need to get this timetable done by tomorrow. Anyone on MSN now?

Thanks

Try this,

Go through all your notes during one week, making 'exam papers' on the important stuff as you go along.

Do this for each and every subject for one week.

Next week 'do' these exam papers in the order you did them
Monday (1st week) - Write French and RE
Monday (2nd week) - Do French and RE

Then mark them and see points where yu're weak and revise them more than the rest.

:-D

one thing i regret doing is less revision.
Though even people with good grades find it hard to find a job!

If you find it hard to revise just by reading, you may not be a visual learner. Instead, make notes, then copy them again and again, reading them each time and the information should go in eventually!

Alternatively, make cue cards. For example, with psychology, I would write the name of a theory on one side, then on the other side of the card I would write the stuff I needed to know about it to test myself.

I'm the sort of person who likes to do about 3 hours a day during my study leave. I split it up into 45 minute sections with a 15 min break in between. Start as early as possible so you are alert and you won't end up putting it off. Do as much before dinner as you can as after dinner it is harder to concentrate as all the blood goes to the digestive systeem!

I found a revision timetable restrictive so I printed off a month's calendar off Word and I would write how much revision I had done for each subject at the end of the day. It makes you feel good on the morning of the exam to see all those hours you have put in and you don't feel like a failure if you havent stuck to a timetable.
