OK, so I'm completely new at this. I hope I'm even in the right thread :-(

I registered a domain name with freeola, but I have web space elsewhere and wish for my domain name to point at the alternative web address.

So... is this possible?
Other places, they offer the advice, but here I just getting pushed back to hosting with freeola :-(

I just want it to point to my website that I already have.

Please, any help, and take it simple :-P

I thought about changing the dns ip to my websites ip, but I didn't want to mess up.

So.. yeah, help most appreciated.

Thank you :-)

This really depends on what you mean by "point it to a website I already have". Freeola recently launched advanced DNS control allowing you to alter the A, MX or CNAME records for your domain without having to change the entire name server. If your current provider allows this type of hosting arrangement you can make these changes from within your MyFreeola control panel by selecting 'DNS & Subdomain Settings' from the left-hand menu.

If you are looking to keep your hosting with Freeola and want to redirect visitors to another URL you can send in a Support Request and one of the Freeola Support guys will be happy to do a simple PHP redirect for you. This ticket request needs to include your Freeola hosted domain name, the FTP username and password (this is given when hosting space is created but is also viewable by selecting 'My Websites' from within MyFreeola) and the full URL you wish to be redirected to.

All support requests are generally dealt with within a few hours (during support opening times) but can, very rarely, take up to 72 hours to be responded to.

Also to add, if I need to create a forwarding page with freeola web hosting, I need to use their dial-up service.

I haven't used dial-up in.. uhh 7 years?
Can I dial-up using my adsl modem?

If not? then what?

Argh.

Help

Thanks
