What was the ref thinking during that match.

For example:
Lithuania got free kicks just for them falling to the ground, while Scotland was lucky if they got a free kick for getting their legs snapped.
Scotland and Dundee defender Lee Wilkie accused Lithuania of using dirty tricks to win their Euro qualifying match.

I was amazed by the way the Eastern Bloc side behaved on the pitch.
But the decicion that shocked me the most was the controversial penalty incident that Austrian referee Fritz Stuchlik had no hesitation to give, when Jakie McNamara 'tripped' Lithuanian substitute Darius Maciulevicius, however TV pictures and thousands of Scotland fans(ME) proved that there was never contact made.
But, Tomas Razanauskas wasn't complaining when he drilled the ball in from 12 yards.
Although Scotland was missing Celtic goalstopper Rab Douglas, Dundee United's Keeper Paul Gallagher made some great saves, in his first international game and his forth cap overall.
Vogts would have been better playing McNamara in a more familiar right wing back role instead of Graham Alexander and using Colin Cameron in the middle.
Penalties have dominated Scotland's last two matches and Kenny Miller insists he deserved one in the 6th minute.
Scotland survived a penalty scare in the 31st minute when Wilkie collided with Porto's Edgaras Jankauskas in the box but Stuchlik waved play on.
It wasn't until the 57th minute before Scotland really begain to look any good. Vogts took off the ineffictive Crawford and replaced him with Paul Devlin. He made an immediate impact when his clever flick on found Don Hutchison, however his low, goal bound drive, was saved by Gintaras Stauce's brilliant block.
Just as the game looked to end with a 0-0 draw the ref awarded Lithuania a penalty out of nothing, when Maciulevicius went down after a tangle with McNamara.
Although Gallagher seemed to have the penalty saved, the crumbling pitch of St Darius and St Gireno Stadium, made the ball make an unlucky bounce and the ball slipped underneath the unfourtunate Gallagher.
The big question is: Does Scotland still have a chance of getting to Portugal next summer????

Hopefully!! :)

I'd go to Portugal if we got there... well, maybe not. It'd probably be too much effort.

But if we get to the World Cup in Germany in 2006 I'll be going to that. Definitely.

We'll easily get to Portugal.

Lithuania at home.
Faroe Islands at home.
Germany twice.....

Well, we'll win two of them, and I think we can beat Germany at Hampden. I'm not saying we will, but we can.

(Some of this may be lies)

I'm going to all the rest of the home matches.

(Not a lie)
