I have a problem with viewing (but not creating) the thumbnails in minigal2.51 on a new site in freeolaweb4 space , but the identical scripts all work fine on freeolaweb0 web space.
Not working example: thumbnail problem at http://www.photo400.com/mg2/
Working fine in freeolaweb0, identical install - at http://www.johnstedman.co.uk/mg2/
Is it possible to move a site from freeolaweb4 to freeolaweb0 if this is what the problem is?? or is there a fix?
having trawled the php forums it looks like im having issues with the GD or some php on that server?
The thumbs are created and written to the correct folder, i can see them fine by ftp in explorer but not served to the browser either by my script or directly in explorer
eg - pasting this into my browser http://www.photo400.com/mg2/pictures/1c7e_1_thumb.jpg which is the file which has been written as a thumbnail file, i get a 403 error. - forbidden error - (not a 404)
I take the same file from the freeolaweb0 space http://www.johnstedman.co.uk/mg2/pictures/1c7e_1_thumb.jpg and it shows fine.
So im thinking the GD is doing something incorrect when it processes the thumbnail.
thx in advance, and happy new year to all.

Ive moved it all to freeolaweb3 and its fine now! It didnt work on 8 either, unfortunately.
Ive PM'd you an admin PW in case you want to have a look at the admin settings. Its currently set "out of the box" but with comments and comment emails disabled.
anyway, in case you want to lose your will to live and hear the full horror:
Yeah it flummoxed me- The server said all the permissions are set, and the script tells me all the permissions are set. The new server seems to be the identical php as far as "asking" it with a php query is concerned.
Well it sort of worked at first in freeolaweb8, then the wheel fell off....
I saw the thumnails which were on the existing site - great :) - but upon uploading fresh pictures i had a worse problem (pictures not displaying) on both the thumbnails and the uploaded pictures in the new web space (freeolaweb8)
So i uploaded a fresh copy of the script, and it was back to square one. No thumbs showing, and a 403 problem. That was on freeolaweb8 where it was moved to (thanks for trying that!).
Anyway, i think i have a workround, moving to another web sopace via the control panel, i do have some webspace on freeolweb3, so i've pointed the domain to that, in effect "swapping" over web spaces for two of my domains and I ought to now have the afflicted site on freeolaweb3 in a few minutes.
I tried one in the old site on freeolweb3 and the script works.
Ive moved the site and there is a fresh script in there, all seems to be working fine
I suspect its a slight difference in the servers' security settings - im guessing that because of the 403 message
