Scotland had a good shout for a penalty early on but it was turned down, looking back it does look like a good case.
Anyway I'll not waffle on about the rest of the match because it wasn't close to entertaining.
Anyway the ref awarded a penalty to Lithuania in the 72 minute, replays clearly show no contact made with the player who seemed just to trip.
One of the scottish players who apparently made the foul asked the ref why and he said he heard the penalty.
Seems while the player was falling his boot hit the defenders shin guard and this was the refs reason for awarding a penalty.
Lets just hope the ref never gets the chance to be the ref in any important matches if this is his way of handling things.
They say refs need glasses well this one could do with actually watching the game first...
I just looked at the FIFA World Rankings and had to chuckle:
53 Iraq
54 Guatemala
63 Scotland
106 Lithuania
Iraq and Guatemala ahead of Scotland is funny enough, but losing to Lithunaia, that's bad even by Scotish standards.
and the ref?
Well the less said the better...
