Few years back I designed and created a monkey puppet, which you could move the eyes and mouth to. Worked fine, wasn't the most comfortable of things, and the head was far too heavy.
So well, now I'm going to do it again.
You may have noticed my hobo wolf I uploaded a bit back, if you want to see and you haven't, just say in here and I'll find it again.
Oh, what the hell: http://grix.users.digital-crocus.com/wolf.jpg
That's a bit easier. :0)
So:
I want to operate the eyes, mouth, and eyebrows. I'd go for 'optional' blinking, but I doubt I have the ability. I'll have a go at designing and see what I can do. It'd be amazing if I could make it blink too...
So yes. Last time the head was made from carbon-fibre, but was well, too heavy. I've got a lot more time, and a lot of experience in wire-frame modelling in 3D, so I'm going to try and make a metal mesh wolf skull. Should be intensely difficult.
Thin strong light metal. Hmm. But first, I need to work on the design of how everything will work, and make sure it's comfortable to use.
I have no idea why I'm telling you this, I'm just excited. :0)
I'm damn excited about my hobo-wolf and that's the way it's going to stay.
