In the follow up to the aforementioned the very same women was being interviewed, I paid scant attention to it until I heard the interviewer ask "hasn't your husband been humiliated and lost respect for the fact that he left Iraq as soon as the coalition declared war".
"No he came back to tell everyone about the role of human shields" came the reply.
No he appears to be a coward and lacks conviction. How can anyone have the temerity to make a song and dance about being a human shield and how the war is unjust, if you are not going to stand by your principles (re Short et al)? I'm sure that AFTER the war is over I'll have even more respect for human shields that stay in Iraq (some of whom appear to be in targeted areas at present) and their experiences will have real value.
