Denzel Washington plays the lead role in this dark yet entertaining thriller with a first rate cast. Washington plays the part of Lincoln Rhyme a top forensic expert who is struggling to come to terms with his quadriplegic state, the result of an on the job accident. Contemplating suicide Rhyme is brought back on the job to investigate a serial killer that has the other experts baffled. His eyes and ears are provided by a rookie cop Amelia Donaghy played by Angelina Jolie (The Future Lara Croft) who investigates the crime scenes for the quadriplegic Rhyme. The movie is dark, graphic and has an unexpected twist at the end.
Unfortunately the DVD doesn’t provide many extra features, which was disappointing. This aside though a film definitely worth seeing, particularly if you like a good thriller.
