Being the smart feller that I am, and making a site like http://netwise.tk, I shouldn't be asking this, but I've run into a little bit of bother. It's no big deal, actually, but I'd appriciate it if I could fix it with the knowledge of how.

Basically, I have a favicon in my parent directory, but it still doesn't display on my pages in the title bar, the address bar, the button in the taskbar when the site is open, OR the favourites folder, so what's up?

I'm not using IE6, though. I'm using IE 5.5!

Doesn't work in Mozilla or Phoenix, so there's definitely something wrong.

It's because you're testing it in IE 6, correct?

I don't know why, but IE 6 doesn't seem to support custom icons for Favourites and Browser Addresses anymore. I remember in IE5 it worked fine, and sites which were normal would show up as an IE icon, FTP sites as an FTP folder and custom ones would appear no problem ... now, none of that happens.

Weather there is a way-around, I don't know, sorry.

It works in Netscape though :)

Because you've done it wrong. As far as I can remember with favicons, you just make a 32x32 bitmap or PNG image and rename it to favicon.ico. It's a long time since I did it though, but I remember using PNGs.

Favicons don't work with TK addresses because they use framesets.

Thank you for dealing with this so promptly it's nice having a service provider that offers a good service, rare to find nowadays.
Wonderful...
... and so easy-to-use even for a technophobe like me. I had my website up in a couple of hours. Thank you.
