The most important decision I made was one of my last ones I ever had to make. Life was boring around those parts. There really wasn’t anything very exiting happening. “Get ready for school Barry” my mother shouted from downstairs. My mum was the person that helped me out with my problems. She was an undercover police officer and she was pretty good too. Just the slightest hint of a smile from her brightened my day. Her beauty knew no other with her hair of gold and her heart so pure. “Okay mum” I say as I skip down the stairs. I had a feeling that that day was going to go perfect. Until it happened.

I left the house almost exited about school. I observed everything around me with new eyes. The dog’s barking was now a serenade to the flowers around him, the sun overlooked my neighbor’s garden as if under the watchful eye of a mother bird, and everything glowed as if greeting me. I’ve never felt like that before. I start up the stairs that lead to the entrance of my local middle school when suddenly two strangers behind me standing near their car call me over with worried faces. It was a crime to be wearing a face like that on such a day. Impossible even. “Excuse me young one, you look like a handy man. May you please see if you could open this pesky door” the nice old woman said while what seemed like her middle aged son looking down disappointed. How could I refuse helping someone out. I walk over and pull on the door handle lightly. It opened without any trouble. Something was wrong here.

The old woman pushes me inside the back seat of the car and locks the door from outside. It was dark. It was so dark it made it seem like I couldn’t even breath due to the thick darkness. There were no handles on the doors to escape from and protecting the two front seats was a strong plastic barrier that ran through the middle of the car. The woman hops into the passenger seat and the man gets into the driver seat. They both turn around and stare at me strongly. “Your mother will pay for what she has done to our gang kid. I’ve already lost all my friends and I’m losing patience with that dumb dog you call a mum!” the man yelled with a furious tone. I looked at his face, his dark expressions, his black hair. I hated him then. So I snapped.

I began yelling things that I’ve never said in my life. “Shut it you foul worthless being! You are nothing compared to my mother and she will win in the end. If not I will personally kill you with my bare hands. You cretin! You fool!”. I continued shouting about how I was going to slaughter them as they started the ignition and started driving off somewhere. After 3 minutes of my ranting the car came to immediate stop and the two carried me away to a tiny warehouse. They slam me on a chair in front of a large computer then the man holds a gun to my head. They let out a loud chuckle then suddenly the whole north wall begins to lift slowly reveling a smaller glass room with no exit and my mum inside.

There were bruises all over her body indicating that she got there by a forceful hand. I stared at her saying nothing. “Hey kid, see that button over there. When you press it, that whole chamber will be filled with toxic gases that will kill her slowly. Press the button or die” he mumbles while gently pulling back the trigger on the pistol. It was either die or let my love die. Mum opens her mouth to tell me something important but before she makes a sound I press the cold metal button down without hesitation. Gas filled the glass room. I continued staring at her. Chills of immediate joy filled my spine. I found a huge smile on my face as I saw my mum bang on the glass and cry tears of fear. And I smiled ever more. What was wrong with me? My mum was dieing and I was happy. There weren’t even any mixed emotions , I was happy and nothing else. The man and the old woman looked at me frightened they were surprised at my look. I figured out my passion in life. Finally. The passion to kill. The passion to take lives. Mum falls down to the floor and at the same time the glass room shatters due to the lack of space. I bend over and pick up a large piece of glass and held it in my hands tightly. Blood ran down my hand, and I was happy. The man held his gun out at me but he was too shocked to take action. I slaughtered those two like the pigs they are, and I loved it. Loved it dearly. I walked out of the warehouse with the glass with me. I had to start this new life of passion starting that day. It was what my senses forshadowed earlier. Now I had a reason to live….
