A computer I acquired a year ago which is about 5 years old is now able to play Counter Strike: Source.
(I've done a bit of upgrading)
Heres the specs:

800Mhz AMD Duron Processor
320Mb Ram
Geforce 2 64Mb GFX Card
10GB HDD

Runs smoothly aswell.

Anybody installed HL2 on anything less than this?

Silly me, i was going by the net_graph fps whch isn't a real time version, when i use cl_showfps i get around 80 :D

I only seem to play on the Uni of Teeside server. Office is excellent.

I should post it really, but i never play it these days as everyones on BF2. I'll post it and see what they say.

Have you posted about it on the Steampowered forums? Generally they should be able to sort it out.

My CSS runs crap and i havn't got a clue why. I seem to get 20-40 fps most of the time :( meaning that any intense fight it can drop to 10-15.

no matter what settings i change in the video option i get pretty much the same FPS.

Yeah, it'll run because the engine is designed to 'scale', but your graphics card is a pile of ass and you're playing the game in DirectX7 mode instead of its proper DX9 pixel-shaded beauty.

I haven't ran HL2, yet.
I have ran Garry's Mod and spawned loads of crap and it still runs smoothly, and I have play GMOD through LAN and there is no slow-down. I'm just amazed at how it works, 800Mhz is a pile of ass.

I found CS to be a LOT less consuming than HL2, so I doubt it'll run it.
