I follow him, like a shadow
Unnoticed
He starts to tie his lace, my hand approach his mildly warm face.
He snaps as he realises I’m there.
Before he turns to see me,
I grasp his vigorously search for his eye sockets
My fingers enter, besides the eyeball
I pull…
You can’t see without any eyes I cackle, in the midnight darkness…
He shouts loud,
Desperately attempting to gather help.
I run into the darkness once again. Unseen.
I hide in the thorn shrub,
Watching the father and son participate in a stroll.
I wait, my eyes gleam, and I lick my lips. Still Anticipating…
Suddenly. I jump from the bushes, and grab the boy.
With him on my shoulder I run into the darkness.
‘I can’t see’ the boy exclaims, innocently
He is yet to see my appearance,
Startled, he makes a turn.
I sink my fingers deep into his eye.
I hold the contents up to the sky.
He screams, as I run further into darkness.
I am a deformity from a crippled society, a product of mistreatment.
Others shall fear me.
But how can they fear something that they can’t see?
And in a very mental way :^)
