I heard the news today that 3 of ITV's news crew went missing, and radio programs suggested they may actually be dead.

Somehow, this struck me. Weird I know. I hear of innocent Iraqi civilians and British/US troops dying, and only this news really hit home. But when I heard about the news on the actual ITV news program, I felt absolutely gutted, shocked and things appeared a lot more real, like there IS actually a war going on, even though I go about normally here in my every day life, in safety.

They interviewed the cameraman that survived, who said that Terry Lloyd along with two other news presenters disappeared out of the jeep they were driving in after been in the middle of a heavy shoot-out between British troops and Iraqi officials. Bullets pierced through the jeep and could have easily hit any of the passengers. And the cameraman said the bullets that hit the jeep came from the british side.

I'm very, very shocked and I feel a lot for the families as well as the brave news crew. Although it's highly unlikely, I hope they all return alive and well.
