Wow.
I just completed over half of TTT in a few hours. I've been playing non stop, I've won all the characters, completed Arcade Mode with over half of all characters, won the brilliant Tekken Bowl mode as well as uncovering the Gallery Mode.
CLASSIQUE!!!
TTT is extremely addictive, it has brilliant graphics, loads of modes, every character ever, loads of multiplayer modes and more and more and more and MORE!! Also, no offence to any DC owners, but I think it kicks Soul Caliber's a$$, and I've played both of them. Not in graphics, but in modes, characters and everything else.
I've also got F1 World Championship 2000, which is the best F1 game ever, and I've borrowed TimeSplitters.
Everything about TimeSplitters is also brilliant apart from the annoying analog controls.
This is why I got my PS2.
I'm now desperately trying to win Gameaday again.

Okay. Ant, the PS2 is good, there is no denying that. If you forget about competition and what went before, all you have left is a playable system with some nice games, but all too few of them as yet. I think the main reason some people are dissapointed with Sony is that a large selection of games were expected for the launch of the console, people are too used to the PS1 line up and now have to get used to a smaller range for a little while. This, of course, is beside the fact that you can still play all the PS1 games on the PS2 (well, nearly all) and with improved graphics too.
Now, I don't have a PS2, but I know plenty of people who do and often play on theirs (although one person I know had their's blow up on them a few days after getting it!) and I can say that if I didn't have a Dreamcast or if I had enough money for both, then I would get a PS2. However, I would also probably get a Gamecube, as I love my N64, but it's a mute point to say which one is better as a) they all have different types of game and b) the Gamecube isn't actually out yet, so all evidence is circumstantial.
In the end, buy the console you are most happy with and have fun, but DON'T TELL EVERYONE THAT IT'S BETTER THAN ANY OTHER CONSOLE *ahem*

Probably not. I wouldn't have the cash, and anyway, I'd be too immersed in my PS2. {:)

1. The obvious Lack of competition from Sony will make things easier for Nintendo when they slaughter Microsoft in the Console wars!

The graphics, especially in the ending movies, are amazing.
SSX is brill, although I don't own it, and ISS is better than FIFA 2001.
