Quake III is already out on the Dreamcast with fully compatible online mode which has virtually no lag on it whatsoever. In March we are gonna se the release of the god like Unreal Tournament for the Dreamcast which has full internet support from day one.

Now Sony have already released Unreal Tournament for there console but there internet is far away from being up and ready. This shows that sony have rushed the release because if you take yure minds back you should remember that the Dreamcast had internet support from day one. Yes it was damn hard to get on but you could. Dreamcast were obviosly prepared for there release, but Playstation 2 give me one impression "rushed" with a small amount of launch games. I think that Unreal Tournament therefore has the bigger advantage on the Dreamcast. For these 2 reasons

1. Internet ready
2. Graphics the same and no better or worse

This gives the dreamcast a very slight advantage of the internet being ready straight away.

How long is it gonna take Sony to get there system all sorted and internet ready. Will you have to buy extras like modem cord and cd.

Is it all worth it if you can get DC cheap for half the price.

PS2 is not ready yetfor internet

The PC version is perfect for online games. You get to play very skilled teammates online.
What would be perfect is DC, PS2 and GC owners against each other!

Quake 3 PC versus DC March 2001. I can almost here the VF3 man 'fight, ready -go!'

Dont get me wrong i absolutely love the DC, best games and graphics (so far) but although it' version of UT is superb (online gaming, higher frame rates than the PS2 and DC only levels) it has one thing missing. Probably the best part of the PC version is the assult levels.
Due to the DC not have enough total system RAM they had to leave this out.
I think people who have played the PC version will be dissapointed but hell thay have the PC version anyway.
Although consoles are doing a fair job at emulating the First Person Perspective gendre it will not be half as good as a PC on the current hardware. Maybe when the X-Box, and possibly Gamecube come out will this gendre will be emulated properly.

This is already planned. People soon in the future will be playing each other even though they have different consoles.
