And guess what? He's French. Ousmane Traore is his name and he currently plays for Valence in France.

Why doesn't he just sell Campbell, Cole and Jeffers and let Keown and Seaman retire so he can ensure that no english players ever play for the team again? He might as well relocate the team to France.

PLEASE CAN CLUBS START TAKING MORE OF AN INTEREST IN ENGLISH PLAYERS!?!?

Yeah, but he wasn't french, and so would always have struggled for a place in the team.

Arsenal sold Upson (ex-Hatter) to Brimingham. Serves them right for going out in the Champions League. He was a decent player.

Either way, having not heard of him like I have Mexés and van Buyten, I doubt he'll be that good! He's trying to go for another Cygan here (and even he's not "that" great), but instead he's just gonna end up with a player like the Liverpool defender (probably...).

...I'd like to see that! :D

Although, I read something on SkySports News, yesterday, saying that van Buyten of Marseille had begun negotiations with 'United (or something?), and that he is willing to agree to move to Old Trafford, just as long as Marseille are happy about it.

Looks like Fergie'll actually be DOING something in the Transfer Market this Summer, then...!! Or is it too early to start? Look at Escudé...

I think the main problem is that English players cost a hell of a lot these days, if you look at the situation at United a lot of them are homegrown talent with only Rio being our main purchase an it cost a silly amount to get him.

Jeffers has cost Arsenal £11 million and although he's a developing young player, thats a lot of money for someone yet to prove himself. Ashley Cole has come through the ranks and Campbell on a free.

You can understand why teams can't afford to buy English players and it is a lot cheaper buying talent from abroad and bedding them into the team.

Even if you look down in the lower leagues, many players are priced out the market.
