Unfortunately, I picked up a copy of the Metro on my way to school both today and yesterday (might have been the day before, actually). On the first of these days, they had a page all about where the U.S and U.K (aptly named "the allies") were going to attack.

That's right. There as a map of Iraq, and showed how and where the war would be begun. The Metro, influenced by the government, are actually giving it away to Saddam and co, trying to trick Saddamm and co, or thinking the population will believe such a thing to help them feel better about themselves. All the options can be plainly described as thick.

It didn't end there. They had details of the armies, and statistics. Bleedin' statistics, like this is some football match. But I noticed something about the statistics; Iraq have more tanks and even troops then the "allies" do. In fact, our good old U.S n' U.K connection looked pretty outnumbered, and it was in quite clear writing. It is also very likely that Iraq DO have Weapons of Mass Destruction, so don't blame me for being kinda paranoiac (sp.) about this.

The media influence has completely effected the U.K. My opinion? Call me weak for firing at the media without good knowledge, but I ain't sure. But what really annoys me is that so many people are expressing an opinion that isn't theirs. Everyone's entitled to their opinion, so how about some people express their OWN opinion? The whole business seems fake.

In papers, I've seen titles such as this:

"THE IRAQ WAR - 12 PAGE SPECIAL EDITION - ONLY IN THE GUARDIAN!"

Why not just release a 2-disc special edition with "making of" documentaries and audio commentaries whilst watching the troops live in action? Come on people! It's what the people want! Let's not forget those public quotes on the box as done in the papers as if this was a film poster. Or the thing that the second metro had - a "spotlight" side-article on what an M16 does. As if this was a videogame.

"Hey, going to war's bad, but since there's nothing we can be bothered to about it, let's influence you on how GREAT guns are! Sale now on!"

I used to think that there were no winners in war. I don't think so now, because the amount of money the media's gonna get and has already gained is huuuuuuge. Bigger than anything!

So abide by everything your favourite member of Liberty X says now!

Maybe I could express an opinion on this whole war business if I had never watched T.V or read a paper in my life.
