But seriously are we at war at the moment?

That's true.

What? in preparation for the coming war or in the Gulf War 1? We know he did it in 1990 - but then again the US used ammo with depleted uranium in them with devastating consequences even ten years on.

Fair enough. Although, as I've said so many times before, the world would have turned a blind eye if Kuwait's main export was turnips. Rwanda anyone? Zimbabwe?

This is shocking. They tell him to leave or die. But if he leaves he'll be immune from prosecution? That's wrong.
Either way, he said he'd die in Iraq so I guess he won't be leaving.

1) I think the people of Israel would disagree.
2) Saddam has ordered chemical shells to be deployed to forward artillery units.
3) I think the people of Kuwait may disagree that Iraq had no army back in 1990/1991. Saddam gambled that the world would do nothing, as he has done this time, instead he found himself in trouble. He never learns, and once again he sees the largest military force in the region since 1991 ready to get him.
Of course, he could always leave the country....If he did do that I sincerely hope we have numerous aircraft ready to intercept him the moment he does so.

I feel so goddamn patriotic and proud to be protected from the big bad man whilst I sleep peacefully.
>will anyones life be effected by the war?
Only people's who's lives will be affected are the army blokes, and the relatives. And here's hoping their lives are affected as little as possible.
We're certainly only a matter of hours/days off war. But then, nearly all of us have already lived through the first gulf war.
The answer to that will give the answer to whether WE are at war.... ;)
