Despite being a big fan of all the usual cult 80's films, I'd never actually seen this and didn't know anything about it. There was an article about it in the great Hotdog Magazine some months back which first got me interested, and I later saw a special edition version of the film available from an online retailer for over £60!
I later found the same special limited edition set for £25 from somewhere else, so I bought it (today I noticed it on another site, which has just had a major overhaul, for only £13.99...darn).
A cult classic by definition, Repo Man sees Emilio Estevez (sporting a dodgy haircut) as Otto, an agressive young dude wasting his life until he happens to meet wise old sage car repossessor Bud, who sneakily recruits the young upstart to be a repo man.
At first Otto isn't too keen, but when he realises there's plenty of cash to be made in car repossession he quickly gets involved in a whole crazy world of Repo Man codes, philosophical repo men, armed robbers, rival repo men, a 1964 Chevy Malibu with something weird in the boot, government agents, UFO conspiracy theorists, plenty of swearing and a touch of B-Movie weirdness.
Its also got a great 80's punk soundtrack (which comes as a free CD in the speical edition version)
If you like bizarre or offbeat movies, give it a look.
