For the longest of times I've wanted to entertain people. I have little confidence in myself, wanting love and attention etc. Recognition, I guess.

And well, maybe you can identify with that, or maybe that's what makes me different to you.

But well, I've narrowed down everything, and what I want to do now is animation. I'm going to work a bit on my artistic visual side, instead of the "woe is me, I cannot see, I won't be free, I need a wee" side of me which I have no control over but I find hilarious every now and again.

And well, I have a few heroes. And they can have their lives and they're so very very human... but they're my heroes.

Jim Henson, however, is not human. He was a God. He created, by far, a world much more interesting and fantastic than ours. A world that was simply created for entertainment.

A frog that tried to hold it all together and organise the spots, tempremental and melodramatic pigs, a witty dog that could play the piano, a... err... well, yes. The Muppets.

And what were The Muppets supposed to do? They didn't ask us to think. They didn't place in front of us "Here is why, here is why"... they just got on with entertainment. And well, there's so little of REAL entertainment left in this world for me.

Sure, The Muppets gave a very very important message, that we were all equal, and life is more important if we just life it and laugh. But that's why there were there. To make us laugh.

And well they'd teach us sometimes, and hell, I've even heard of them making people cry. And it's not to everyone's taste, but I think it's only oxygen that gets that priviledge anyway.

But for me... there just isn't enough in this world to entertain me. Far from it. It's full of pap. And I intend to help change that. I can't say I can get rid of the pap. I'll just add to the stuff that I really, really love.

For a long time, it was my challenge to make someone 'think'. Now, I realise how pathetic and pointless this is... Now? I just want to make people 'feel'. Thank you Jethro Tull.

And the difference is emotion, and that's everything. And I can be inspired by the lyrics of songs I find amazing, but I'm no songwriter. And I may find some paintings absolutely amazing, but I'm no artist.

Nah, I'm not an artist. I'm just human.

And I can write and I can write about how I feel just to pass the time, but the challenge, the real thing now, is to make you feel. To turn what I've done right around.

And what I need right now is a platform, and I've almost got one. And just thinking about stuff like this makes me feel so alive.

So that's why Jim Henson's my hero. He brought laughter to the world, and he brought laughter to mine. He made me feel, and he made me think.

Well.. err, ok.

I face a lot of hardship in life, just like everyone else. I think about it, and I come on here in the hopeful intention that my musings and writings will help people to think. Poetry, etc. It's entertainment, sure... but well, there's more to life than thinking. Much, much, much more. I tried to add my little bit to the world by writing poetry, stuff like that.

But well, these days, I find that a little repetitive. I find that I'm just trying to teach people what I've taught a thousand times before and while perhaps I am teaching people, it doesn't really satisfy me. I don't want to be this martyr anymore. I don't particularly feel like being this figure of hope when I don't believe I really should be.

So that's thinking.

Making people feel, well, to me, is all about character. And well, sometimes I can make people think. And that's ok.

But to make someone feel is, well, beyond that. To make someone love something, to make them smile, cry, laugh, to make them excited or worried... all over something, well, that's much different indeed.

And I can still make people think. But I'd rather make them laugh. I'd rather make people smile and dance and sing. That's the real challenge. Show them life.

And can I do it? I'm not sure, but I'm going to give it my best shot.

Meet the Feebles, meet the Feebles.

Anyway.

I don't really have heroes, well no one in particular, I may look to certain people at times to get ideas or inspiration or in those "what would so and so do?" situations although lately I've been getting a lot of influence from a certain someone which I think has made me a better person.

Jim Henson's always been one of my heroes too. I remember writing a biography of him in English when I was about 12. I really thought it was amazing the way he brought inanimate objects to life.
Yeah, he was one of my heroes.

but that's not why I'm replying to this post.

Grix, whenever I read your posts it's obvious that you've put a lot of thought into your comments, but you never quantify them.

Please, please don't take this the wrong way, because if you've put the effort in to writing it it's worth trying to understand, but I just don't understand without some sort of example to your points. I don't know why I don't understand, or why I'm missing the point.

You said that your challenge was to make me feel. Well, I could interpret your posts in a number of ways, and I have no indication as to which way you intend them to be interpretted. Right now I feel I don't understand something that I should. I feel pretty confused, and pretty inadequate that I don't get what you are saying.

but yes, Jim Henson was a brilliant man.

Yeah, Jim Henson, he did some great things with those Muppets.

To think of all he went through for someone to giveThe Muppets a chance, then it was huge.

Myself, I don't really have any heroes.

I don't know why I don't, I just don't.
