This may sound a little stupid, but how do you save the settings for the PS1 drivers? Even though I set them to Smooth and Fast, they reset themselves.....
Any ideas?

The reason the settings don`t save is because almost all games work with the settings off, where as less work with the texture mappng/disc speed enhancements engaged, so they made the "off" the default.

You can't save the settings for PS1 games as it says so in the PS2 Manual! I've also found that while playing FF8, with graphics smoothing on, in the fight scenes there are little black boxes around some of the spells effects. I've also tried Resident Evil 3 with the graphics thingy on and i can't really see a difference.
Has anybody played any DVD's on a PS2 yet?

Do you think I may have unlocked a secret extra ps2 feature?

tetris minigame whilst playing other ps1 games?!

The wonders of the playstation2 never end!

However, joking aside, most of FF9 should be ok; It's mostly 2d pre-rendered backgrounds. Only the battle scenes make extensive use of polygonal backgrounds.....

Driving games seem to be the worst hit; largely where the background interacts with the sky.

Any other takers on this topic?

Certainly have to reset the PS1 settings on mine every time.

Could be because some games have problems with the enhancements switched on, so it resets every time just in case.

Haven't experienced and of the other problems with the graphics though. Played all through Dino Crisis 2 without a glitch, and I'm currently finishing off TR:Last Revelation before starting on Chronicles - and that's had no problems so far.
