Snowdream:
About half way down the course there is a series of yellow striped jumps. To the left there is an SSX logo which you can jump into. This will allow you to go through the trees and take a long corner cut down to the next check point. This seems to save about 10 seconds if you get it right.
There are also many small corner cuts throughout, some of which are identified by the ssx logos, and others which are just obvious because its quicker to do over the corners than around them.
Elysium Alps:
The first good short cut is at after the 4th jump, where there is a right turn through a gate. This is tricky because there are some tough jumps ahead, but when you get this right its possible to jump way into the lead, possibly 8 - 12 seconds.
The next good shortcut is after the double jump with the rails either side. Go left through the SSX logo, through the trees, and onto a wide track that allows you to jump over the frozen river below. The toughest part of this is the final gap where you need to slide along the tree stump.
After this, the last thing to do is tackle the panes of glass. The best way to do this is to slide all the way along one of the top edges of this section, avoiding the obstacles on either side.
With these shortcuts alone, it is easy to beat the top record set by CAPTAIN.
Merqury City Meltdown:
When you go down the first steep slope, just before the cross over there is a slope up to the side of the course which will allow a slightly shorter path. Further down, the best routes are through the SSX logos, but these predominantly only save a few seconds.
Later, just after you jump over the bridge before the trees, there is a logo to the left, which you can break to go down a frozen river into the sewers. This is tricky because there are many obstacles, but it is rewarding in the end.
Lastly, there is a logo between two buildings just before the final s-turns, which you can smash through to shave off 5-9 seconds just before the finish. It is best to land on the lamp post below and slide onto the next part of the slope.
Mesablanca:
The first short cut is at the first bend (after the initial 2 jumps), which allows you to jump through the gate, and round a straighter path than the pre-planned one. The only tricky point is getting the sliding along the tree part, but once past that, it i possible to get a few seconds lead.
The next thing to do is to take a left when you see the centrally placed rail (this is over the next couple of jumps). Smash the logo, and descend the quicker slope. At the bottom you can smash the logo and enter the mine through the hatch, but it is better to take a right before the logo, and enter the mine through the caves.
At the end of the mine there are some trees which you can cut through by smashing the SSX logo. This saves another few seconds. Lastly, there are many corners later on which can be taken in a straight line by going over instead of around.
Tokyo Mega Plex:
There are only a few good routes in this. Firstly, at the first ramp, near the fan, jump into the fan, after pushing the switch to turn it off. This is not neccesarily shorter, but it cuts out the obstacles. Next, when you reach the short pillars that rise and fall, push the greener buttons to put down the pillars allowing you to go staight throuh.
Lastly, at the ramps just before the end, jump up into the SSX logos, and slide over the top of the flippers to save a bit more time.
Aloha Ice Jam:
Early on there are a few SSX logos which you can smash through over the tops of corners, which save a few seconds. This is followed by a ramp, which if jumped correctly allows you to enter a cave with running water that is very fast and direct. Once out of this, there is a speed boost to the right, and then you can jump right at the next jump, and instead of turning each silly bend down this next slope, you can go straight down the right hand side.
Lastly, at the bottom of this slope, there is a jump with black and red striped rails across it. Make sure you jump right, and land in front of the SSX logo to the left. Follow the path through the logo, and you will save about 8 seconds, and find the record easy to smash!
Pipedream:
The best places for tricks here are located on the right where the rails and the red star is located. However, this course is all down to each eprson`s own jumping preferences.
Untracked:
An excellent course which needs no tips, its just there for the amazing fun you can have with it!
Feel free to write in entries and add to the list of short cuts, I am fairly sure that the above is missing a few. Anyway, I hope that helps anyone who wanted help with the races.
Anyone tried the car-park/office block route?
Before your approach the frozen river, and after the bit with the frozen buses, look for a car-park on the right, through a gap in the fences.
follow the car park down and jump to the next roof, over a low wall.
jump off this roof and get some nice big STRAIGHT air, to smash into the side of the building opposite.
go through the building interior, exit through the wall and land on another roof.
grind along the pipe which goes through a giant donut.
I believe there's another building and then a second donut; I keep falling off at this point; doh!
Merqury City has LOADS of rooftop grinds which may not necessarily be shortcuts but could yield mega points - look out for sloping ramps and ledges on the side of buildings.
Also, anyone else found the underground train line?
it's difficult but interesting!
