Renault and Jordan are red hot as Trulli takes pole
Jarno Trulli has taken pole position for the Malaysian Grand Prix, the first pole position in his career. It was a super hot day in Malaysia and times suffered a little as a result, meaning the times were as quick as last year.
It was another fantastic day for Jordan as Fisichella took 2nd and rookie Ralf Firman took 3rd. Alonso made it a marvellous day for Renault with 4th place. World Champion Panis is still struggling with his Toyota and could only manage 16th on the grid. Previous winner, Frentzen, could only qualify 15th.
