Well, that was a bit boring.

Ok, so there was constantly some cars on the track, but where was the excitement? Before, the last 5 minutes or so was always exciting, the top drivers would all be out with low fuel, trying to get pole.

Now? It's just one car after another, and I didn't find it particularly exciting. I certainly won't be waking up at stupid o'clock for the Malaysian qualifying, that's for sure...

Anyway, whinge over, kind of. All the new rules have had no effect on one major part of qualifying, the Ferrari's still have the front row of the grid. Great.

Montoya was third, well done to him after a pretty rubbish Friday. Frentzen was fourth, possibility of a light fule load, methinks? Panis and Villenueve round out the top six.

Alonso did really well, outqualifying Trulli, even though he, Alonso, had a big moment halfway round the lap.

The Minardi's had a weird tactic if not setting a time, therefore they don't have to go into Parc Ferme and so they can still work on their cars overnight. Not sure what the FIA will have to say about that...

Same old story - Ferrari lead the way

the sport just isn't exciting anymore.

Glad to see Montoya finishing 3rd though.

I stayed up to watch it last night, and let's just say I'm not doing that again when a race is on the other side of the world.

There was a lot less excitement overall with the new qualifying method, and Ferrari dominating once again just rubbed it in. I've got a bet on Montoya winning tomorrow, as well, so he'd better do something good, or Schumacher had better crash. :-D

I'm not going to get up and watch the race live, I have a feeling Ferrari will just run away with it. Again.

I'd rather be bored over lunchtime tomorrow, rather than 3am tonight.

Minardi found a loop hole in the regulations. They won't get penalised for it. The loop hole will be closed in the next few weeks. Minardi are banking on a bit of rain.

As for the qualifying itself, it was not particularly interesting. Actually, I found Friday more interesting. We now have to guess everyone's strategies.

I still think my qualifying idea is better. :D
