Word just randomly decided to close and wipe the last 800 words I'd written in there. Even the auto recovery file, which saves every ten minutes, has no recollection of any changes made for the last 24 hours.

I AM UNHAPPY.

Look in your temp directories - should be recoverable from there if you can track it down. My be in my docs as well as a temp file.

It's happened to me once before now. I lost about 600/700 words of an essay I'd been writing.

Since then, I make sure that the autosave is set to every minute.

Never again...

Ask yourself, what would the Porntrooper do?

The Porntrooper knows no words.

If he were caught using Word, I would be greatly concerned.

I lost 20-30 graphs and tables full of stats from my final Uni project on: The physiological and environmental factors affecting the microhabitat selection in the common rough woodlouse (Porcellio Scaber), when the disk I stored them on corrupted.

Ever since, I spend my days hunting woodlice (by looking under logs and stuff- ha ha I already know where they live-poor fools) and committing acts of genocide on their dumb shells.
