Word just randomly decided to close and wipe the last 800 words I'd written in there. Even the auto recovery file, which saves every ten minutes, has no recollection of any changes made for the last 24 hours.

I AM UNHAPPY.

Yep. Really long post written out, not copied to clipboard, and it either

A) Crashes (IE)

or

B) SR gives me some warning about a problem with the post, and if you mess up the going back bit, the words just go.

Bagger.

I've done that on these forums loads of times and IE just displays:

'Illegal Operation: Your fault not mine.,'

Word did a nasty on me the other day. I'd done something like three pages of a document, realised I needed to save, minimised it, went upstairs to get the disk, and when I came down it was gone. Now I couldn't have clicked to get rid off it because it would have asked me to save. So me and my Dad start looking through temporary files, autosave thingies etc. When we actually find something with a name that looks similar, it won't let us open it because apparently it's already open. Only the rest of my PC doesn't seem to think so. So basically I had all the woes of having a document open without actually having it open.

But I managed to save it to disk in the end, and then just restart my computer. It was close though.

Mr T says: I pity the fool who messes with my word documents.

Never trust a PC MS product, back up manually every 15 minutes.
