Second, I feel th epecking order for this year will be different to last year. From what I've seen, I think Barrichello will be a bigger challenge to Schumacher this year. McLaren seem in second, but I think BAR will be taking over third - Villenueve put in a fantastic lap considering he'd only done 5 laps in the morning, and had practically no setup. Button was only a few tenths back in 5th, so it seems BAR may finally have a season worth shouting about.
Renault were kind of where they were last season, floating about in the wrong half of the top ten. Then comes Toyota, with Da Matta doing a fantastic lap, up until the last sector, where he just seemed to lose it. Not sure what's "Da Matta" there... (ho ho...) Williams, it seems, weren't sand-bagging at all. They really do have a rubbish car.
Sauber seem to have taken a small step backwards this season, and the Jaguars and Minardi bring up the rear of the field. With Ralf "the boy" Schumacher in 16th. This is mainly down to him cocking up at the first corner, rather than the Williams being rubbish.

> Ant, it was 1 lap for each driver in the first session as well.
Yeah, but the second session means more. {:)
Don't really know why they scrapped it to be honest...
The Saturday session doesn't really look that interesting because there will be differing fuel loads. In my opinion, pole position is only going to mean something if everyone behind it is on the same fuel load. Still, there is a chance of rain, so who knows?
As for the positions, B.A.R looked pretty good. I'm not sure if the rivalry there is healthy but Villeneuve and Button did an amazing job. Renault are still missing a really good engine and is down a little on power. Minardi do look a little way back in terms of speed. Toyota looked pretty good and Da Matta looked great in the first 2 sectors but the last sector looked pedestrian.
I'm standing by my aggregate theory. The more I think about it, the more it seems to work.
Not sure if I'll bother watching the first session from now on, I only did for this one because it's the first race.
Barrichello will do well as long as he is given every chance to by his Ferrari mentors, they still regard Michael as their main man, which may prove to be decisive later on in the season.
