Going to Paris tommorow on Eurostar. Its an ICT Business Studies joint trip thingy. Have to go to two conferences but the rest of the time we can do what we please in Paris. Should be good.

Go as free people, and it rules.

1 = couldnt choose hotel
2 = were not allowed out long enough to go onto the islands in the middle
3 = explained that we were not given enough time, not by choice, to eat out preoperly
4 = told to go to bed

Well just got back, had mixed feelings. Eurostar was ok, just a normal train - rocketed when it got to France, which was nice. Hotel was ok, but in a grotty area. Only fast food restaurantes around and we didnt get enough time in the eve to go out for a proper meal. Eifel Tower looked nice at night but didnt go up. Went on a lame boat ride. Metro was weird, with crazy French police about with massive f-off dogs with them. Went to the Latin Cartier. Was v cool, lots of bars, but the prices in bars are extremely high - 8€ for the pint equivelent, thats about £6 a pint! One conselation was that lager in supermarkets was dirt cheap. Got a pack of 10 Stellas for £3. So got lashed back at the hotel. Didnt have time to go site seeing because of stupid conferences on Saturday. Paris smells as well and has a terrible immigrant problem. Rather rough as well. Was a laugh though, dunno if i'd go back.

Well luckily i cant drive yet, i was warned that the Metro in Paris is very confusing, and theyre are more pick pockets than in London. Probably my stupid Business teacher - he's hilarious

We stood on top, and looked down - and saw about 50 near misses in about 10 minutes! Mad Frogs.....

Paris is fantastic because:

A) Its beautiful
B) Monmatre rules
C) The food is fantastic - In Monmatre, eat outside under heaters. Lovely.
D) The imperial past makes it look all powerful and symmetrical in places. Which my British-ness obviously likes.
E) It has some nice ladies. From what I saw.
F) All the monuments.


Apart from the French its great. But I think all European cities of pwer (i.e London, Paris, Berlin etc) are all probably really nice. Except for the Krauts.
