New home office terrorism mini-site coming.

Somehow I don't see this sort of thing as helping anyone very much. Except maybe the government, who seem ever keen to try to keep everyone scared enough of Johnny Foreigner to go kill.

(Presumably the current terrorism legislation summary at the end of the link will be replaced with something more relevant to the public, as the page suggests)
I guess we'll have to wait and see what comes up before making a real judgement. I for one will be keeping an eye out.

Of course this is Propaganda.

Along with the timing of congestion charges to reduce the amount of traffic on the roads by 20%, well it could have been propaganda for anyone willing to pick it up and run with it. :D

Anyway, I don't take any notice of them anymore, this is a massive experiment, and they wouldn't undertake such an exercise in such a high profile city unless they were 99% certain of success. The blow to public confidence, and the maximisation of London as a potential target would be massive if the result was a failure.

This is the very last thing we need to be sending taxpayers money on when we could be spending it on building an aid stockpile for the helpless Iraqi's.

Y'see, I tend to view this as "Damned if they do, damned if they don't" on the part of the government. They have to practise this sort of thing, but when they do it is inevitable that their motives will be mistrusted. Maybe if successive governments hadn't bent the truth to breaking point in previous years, we wouldn't be so cynical...

I was concerned about this sudden need to test out our response to a major biological attack.

It's nice to know that the government is trying to be prepared, but I am left wondering if the annoucement might also be to do with scaring the average punter into agreeing with the war?

Wonderful...
