SRW WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH - NO DISQUALIFICATION -
Rob Van Dam (AfroJoe (c)) vs Chris Benoit (Grandprix)
Written by LL Cool TT

Good evening, ladies and gentlemen, and welcome back to SRW Burnout. I don’t know about you, but this PPV really has been off the chart, just to steal a typical WWE slogan. I’ve been really impressed with all the efforts put in by all participants tonight, but now we have tonight’s main event – we have a match that has been born out of a feud which wreaked havoc on anyone that got involved in it. It all started two months ago, when a simple no.1 contenders’ tournament declared Rob Van Dam(AJ) the prime contender to The Rock(Starlight)’s crown. But then Brock Lesnar decided that he wanted in on this match, and so we ended up with a triple threat match, which later led to The Rock(Starlight) losing both his KOTR and his SRW world title.

He didn’t go on to feud with Brock, even though it was Brock who pinned him and hence eliminated him. No, The Rock(Starlight) decided that the one who he would focus on would be the ever-arrogant, the pompous, the new SRW Undisputed Champion of the World, Rob Van Dam(AJ). Now, we’re all perfectly aware of RVD(AJ)’s talents in the ring. He’s a great wrestler, one of the best, if not the best here in SRW. But he made the big mistake of throwing away the biggest advantage he had over his competition; his unimaginably huge fan base. This always used to give him an edge over the other wrestlers he was fighting against, but now RVD(AJ) will most likely never have that much support again.

But this hatred for each other culminated in a match most SRW fans will never forget; a night when the boundaries were crossed, and rules re-written. Let’s take you back to that sickening action:

The Rock(Starlight) does not give up! RVD(AJ) is quickly back to work, though, as he hops out of the ring again. Surprisingly quickly, too, for someone who has recently fallen down a set of stairs and down a balcony. He’s looking under the ring for something, but hasn’t found it, so tries the next side…what could he be looking for now? He’s got something, and is having trouble pulling it out…what is it? It’s a box, but it’s long and rectangular! What’s in it? He’s opening it up now, and it’s…LIGHT STRIPS! Those fluorescent light strips that The Rock was threatening to use have been pulled out first by RVD! RVD puts the strips into the ring, where The Rock is still trying to regroup. RVD gets in the ring, and picks up the strips. He’s placing them vertically resting on the ropes, three…four, five of them now. As he checks the fruits of his labour, The Rock(Starlight) creeps up behind RVD and crushes him with a double axehandle to the back. RVD is whipped into the ropes opposite the strip lights, RVD bounces back and is given a complimentary shove by The Rock, but RVD counters and THROWS ROCKY INTO THE ROPES, THROUGH THE LIGHTS AND TO THE OUTSIDE! OH MY GAAAAAWWWWWWWD! This truly is the sickest match I’ve ever had to call! Rock’s back has been permeated by shards of glass, and RVD is celebrating! Damn him to Hades, Hell and wherever else you want to send him! The crowd are incandescent with rage at the way RVD has conducted himself throughout this match, and I’m completely with them!

The Rock(Starlight) is down and absolutely covered in blood, whereas RVD(AJ) has the crimson mask all over his face. RVD goes to the outside only to put the almost dead Rocky back into the ring, which RVD has clearly marked as his own. Rock cannot get up, but RVD has gone back to the outside, and is heading towards our announce table – he’s taken two steel chairs, and has thrown them in the direction of The Rock. Now that RVD has re-entered the ring, he is setting up the chairs opposite one another, and is now going back to the strips lights. He wouldn’t, surely? He is, he’s bridging the two chairs with strip lighting! But wait, there’s hope for The Rock, as he has caught RVD by surprise and has thrown him in the direction of the turnbuckle; RVD gets the boot up and stops from heading into the corner; Rocky runs towards RVD but RVD again gets his foot up. Rocky isn’t deterred though, and leaps onto RVD, going for the traditional 10-punch; 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 – fatal mistake! RVD grabs The Rock’s legs, and now he’s walking along, towards that light strip horror, but has he got the strength…

*OOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!*

RVD POWERBOMBED THE ROCK THROUGH THE LIGHT STRIPS! Glass has shattered everywhere, and embedded itself in The Rock(Starlight)’s back!

*Back to Burnout*

It was not a match that I can say I was proud to call, or even watch. Most fans were perfectly right to have complained to SRW for the actions of both The Rock(Starlight) and RVD(AJ), because it did go too far. But that match had more serious repercussions, for Rocky at least, because his back was so badly damaged that he’s not allowed to wrestle for at least one more month. Step in Chris Benoit(Grandprix). His position as the number 1 contender to RVD(AJ)’s title was established in a match where Van Dam(AJ) actually entered himself to eliminate the possibility of someone challenging his title position! Let’s remind you all of what went down just two weeks ago:

But wait, here are those guys in the Grim Reaper costumes! They’ve taken Mike Chiota out of the ring, and now shots are raining down all around him! Chiota is out, and now it seems as though they’ve got their sights set on the other three competitors-
*IF YA SMMMEEEEELLLLL, WHAT THE ROCK, IS COOKIN’!*
OH MY GOD! The Rock(Starlight) is back! And he’s got a referee’s shirt on! He’s taking out the Powers That Be with rights, spinebusters and now – ROCK BOTTOM! He turns around to the peril RVD finds himself in, and asks RVD if he wants to quit; RVD isn’t tapping, to his credit, but wait:
DING! DING! DING!
The Rock(Starlight) has called for the bell, even though RVD(AJ) didn’t tap! And who won? The Rock is talking to Howard Finkel, but I can’t hear what is being said…and now The Rock goes back to the centre of the ring, and holds the arms of both Jericho(Figo) and Benoit(Grandprix)…this isn’t a draw, is it?
Finkel: The referee has deemed the match…a victory for…
Who, dammit? Who?!
Finkel: …Chris…
Yes…
Finkel: …Benoit!
*Wild cheering from the fans*
Benoit(Grandprix) has done it! Chris Jericho(Figo) never really did enough to deserve the win after being beaten up by Austin(Jericho15), and RVD(AJ) shouldn’t even have been in the match in the first place! Well done to Chris Benoit(Grandprix), who goes on to face RVD(AJ) for the Undisputed SRW title at Burnout, under whatever stipulations he so wishes!

*Back to Burnout*

And so it was then that Benoit(Grandprix) affirmed his place. Many have felt that the Rabid Wolverine has been deserving of at least a title shot for many months now, and many more feel that it is now his time, and that RVD(AJ) had better get ready for something more serious than what was allowed to get at him this week on Eclipse, where he was screwed out of a victory by Van Dam(AJ), Jericho and those Powers That Be, or the bWo, or whatever they’re called now. Let’s take you back to that screw-job on Benoit:

*Thunder strike rips though the arena*

What in the hell is going on now? The arena is in pandemonium, and – IT’S THE POWERS THAT BE! Those hooded maniacs are here now, and one has a chainsaw! They’re sprinting down to the ring, and are met there by a vigilant Rock(Starlight)! Rocky hits the first one down, but the second STRIKES THE ROCK WITH THE CHAINSAW! Oh my God, what insanity! The first one is back up again, now, and is attacking Chris Benoit(Grandprix) with all his might! I don’t know if Benoit can take much more punishment, as the chainsaw-wielding one comes up to him – Benoit dropkicks the knee! The chainsaw falls out of the ring, while Benoit tries to fend off these evil unwanted demons of Hell! Benoit’s throwing all the rights and lefts he can, but the power of the Powers That Be is just too much for him! They whip him into the ropes, and hoist him up in a tandem military press…they throw him up in the air, turn him and hit a tandem DDT! Benoit’s been spiked right on his head!

*Smashing glass*

Again? Austin’s back, with the handcuffs’ chain broken, and he’s throwing massive rights into the faces of the Powers That Be! One goes down, but Austin kicks the other in the mid-section – STUNNER! RVD(AJ) tries to attack Stone Cold(Jericho15), but he gets a boot to the stomach – STUNNER FOR RVD(AJ)! And here come security, all over again! They’re armed with night-sticks now! They enter the ring, and start to rain down blows on Austin’s back! The Rock(Starlight) is back up, and is hitting the Powers That Be at every possible occasion, AND BENOIT LOCKS JERICHO IN THE CROSSFACE! In amongst all this madness, Chris Benoit(Grandprix) has locked Jericho(Figo) in the Crippler Crossface! He’s wrenching at the head, face and neck of Jericho, but wait! RVD(AJ) grabs Benoit’s legs, tilts Benoit over, straight onto his shoulders:

1
2
3! NO! NO! Jericho(Figo) has stolen this match! But there’s still mayhem in the ring! The Rock(Starlight) has been thrown out of the ring, as has Austin, who is being dragged to a nearby jail facility, and now Benoit is being destroyed by all four men! Jericho’s telling the others to move aside, as he picks up the legs of Benoit(Grandprix), and turns him into the WALLS OF JERICHO! RVD(AJ) is telling Jericho something, and has leapt to the top rope – FIVE-STAR FROG SPLASH on the back of Benoit’s head! Jericho releases the Walls, and now…it can’t be…the Powers That Be are removing their cloaks…?! Hang on a second, the hoods are separate, so we still don’t know who these people are but the cloaks are off-they’re wearing shirts for…for the…blue World order?

*Back to Burnout*

So, now that you’ve been filled in, we can get this match started. It’s not been a long feud, but already Rob Van Dam(AJ) has made Chris Benoit(Grandprix) hate him so much that this could get very nasty, very quickly, and I don’t envy the job of Earl Hebner tonight, because keeping this match tasteful will be one hell of a task. Anyway, first up, as always, is the challenger, Chris Benoit(Grandprix).

*Electric guitar screeching*

This is the first participant in the title match tonight!

Finkel: Ladies and gentlemen, the following match is a No Disqualification match, for the Undisputed SRW Heavyweight Championship of the World! Please welcome the first contender, weighing in at the scales tonight at 225 pounds, hailing from the wrestling capital of the world, Calgary, Alberta, Canada…the Rabid Wolverine, CHRIS BENOIT!

*Huge cheering*

Chris Benoit(Grandprix) has been carried to Burnout on a wave of popularity, and it’d be hard to say that that hasn’t been of some benefit to him as he’s been preparing for this match, no doubt the most important he’s had for many a year. Now he’s waiting for that pompous RVD(AJ), who some might say has been lucky to have the SRW title still, although I wouldn’t be one of those people.

BOOM! *ONE OF A KIND!*

And here comes the champion…well, that’s shocked me! He’s not being backed up by any of his cronies, he’s out on his own, and he’s heading for the ring as serious as I’ve ever seen.

Finkel: And his opponent, coming from his home-town of Battle Creek, Michigan, weighing in tonight at 230 pounds, he is the Whole F’n Show, and the Undisputed SRW Champion of the World…Rob – Van – Dam!

Van Dam(AJ) removes his belt, holds it briefly above his head, and then just gives it to referee Earl Hebner. I’ve never seen RVD(AJ) so focused, without showing himself off, or anything like that!

And now, here we are…the two greatest wrestlers in SRW today, Rob Van Dam(AJ) and Chris Benoit(Grandprix), face-to-face in the ring, as we wait for official confirmation that this match has begun…

DING! DING! DING!

Here we go! RVD(AJ) and Benoit both back off and begin to circle the ring, both trying to feel each other out before the first punch is thrown. RVD steps forward, before quickly withdrawing and continuing to hop around the ring. Both athletes are clearly at the peak of their conditions, and have been working hard to get to these levels of physical perfection. RVD goes for a solid kick to the stomach of Benoit, but Benoit successfully blocks it, allowing the Canadian Crippler to retreat to the corner; RVD does the same. We’ve got a standoff at high noon here, folks, and I’m not sure who’s going to be the first to strike the other. Benoit(Grandprix) is teasing Van Dam(AJ) with a series of possible attacks, until RVD rashly dives for the Rabid Wolverine in a poor grappling manoeuvre; Benoit forward-rolls out the way, which leaves the door wide open for Benoit to counter – RVD turns around to face Benoit, but Benoit- OOH! Benoit just chopped the chest-hair off RVD’s chest! OOH! And again! OOH! Once more – there’s chops on the menu tonight! RVD gets forced into the ropes, meaning Benoit can whip him to the other side, but Van Dam reverses and sends Benoit running in the ropes; RVD hits the splits, but Benoit realises; tries the quick elbow drop; RVD sits up just in time; attempts a buzzsaw roundhouse kick, but Benoit lays back, dodging the leg; and now both men are back on their feet. RVD and Benoit now get into a collar and elbow tie-up; Benoit tries to muscle Rob Van Dam into the corner, but RVD turns the tables on Chris Benoit, moving him into the corner. Our referee for tonight, Earl Hebner, interjects himself in the tie-up, making the two release their grasp of one another’s arms and shoulders…RVD is moved away, and holds up his arms to show that he isn’t doing anything – for God’s sake, give it a rest! Van Dam does it again: R – V – D! Benoit gets rightly P.O.’ed at this, and makes a run for Van Dam, but RVD cleverly grapples on the right arm of Benoit and arm drags him! Benoit was well-scouted by RVD there, and now he runs for RVD again, but gets caught with a fine hip toss by the Battle Creek native!

Benoit(Grandprix) is not having the best of these opening minutes, as one may have expected him to have had! Much as I’m sad to say it, Rob Van Dam(AJ) has currently got the upper-hand on the Rabid Wolverine! But things may change here, as Benoit makes yet another run for Van Dam, and almost gets caught by an orthodox spinning heel kick from RVD, but he grabbed the right leg, and turns it into a modified dragon screw! Benoit keeps hold of the leg, though, and brings down his elbow to the knee of RVD, while the champ lies helpless on the floor! Benoit gets back up, and locks Van Dam’s right leg in a simple spinning toe-hold…this is good strategy by Chris Benoit(Grandprix), which is more in common with the Benoit we’re used to seeing in SRW. Benoit releases the hold, but kicks RVD’s leg as his calling card, before showing the referee that he’s staying clear of anything illegal.

The referee allows RVD(AJ) to get back on his feet again, keeping Benoit(Grandprix) back. Van Dam’s now back up, shaking his right leg, but he seems fine to me. RVD and Benoit are circling the ring again, each one still trying to outwit the other in this momentous title match, for the most important title to either of these men. Both take a step forward, and again lock up in a tie-up. The battle of strength is on again, but Benoit sneaks behind RVD into a German suplex-ready waistlock; RVD switches to put that on Benoit, lifts Benoit up, but the Rabid Wolverine counters by rolling up RVD and placing the champ’s right leg in an ankle pick! Benoit has Van Dam’s leg locked, but crucially is twisting the ankle to take away most of his opponent’s offence: take away RVD’s ability to jump and leap like he does, and you immediately strip him of 75% of his attacking power and prowess (and possibly the SRW title). Rob Van Dam’s definitely in trouble early on in this match, but is using his free left leg to hammer Benoit’s left upper arm, forcing the Crippler to relinquish the grasp of Van Dam’s ankle. RVD gingerly gets back on his feet, but needs to use the ropes for leverage, to keep him from falling over. Hebner’s checking Benoit again for any foreign objects, even though this is a NO-DQ match an’ all, but – what the?! Van Dam’s checking under the turnbuckle cover, and he’s found A BARBED-WIRE WRAPPED CHAIN! He exaggerates any pain he’s feeling, wrapping it around his hands, until Earl allows the two combatants to get back to it again, at which point Benoit(Grandprix) makes a dash towards the champion, BUT GETS CLOCKED IN THE FOREHEAD WITH THE CHAIN-WRAPPED FIST! Oh no, Benoit’s out now, surely! This can’t be over already! Van Dam’s falls on top of his Canadian opponent, for the first cover:

KICK OUT! Unbelievable resilience by Benoit! I don’t know too many people who could kick out of a pin after being hit on the head with a chain twined with barbed-wire! RVD(AJ) looks at Earl Hebner, but is now bringing Benoit(Grandprix) back up to a vertical base, before WHACKING HIM WITH THE FIST AND CHAIN AGAIN! Van Dam gets back on his feet, though, not opting for the pin, but instead going for a WONDROUS STANDING MOONSAULT! He remains down for the pin, though:

KICK OUT AGAIN BY BENOIT! I’m quite amused by Rob Van Dam’s constant looks of disbelief at the referee. I mean, even he must realise that it’s going to take more than a couple of punches with a chain are going to put Benoit(Grandprix) away – think of the hours and hours of preparation that he’s put into this match! Van Dam’s able to get back up now, and is stomping away on any part of Benoit that he can find. He’s taken the chain off, and thrown it out the ring, while still bringing down the boots on Chris Benoit. The crowd don’t seem to be very into the match, even with the two shots to the skull of Benoit with that chain, and I can even hear some disgraceful louts chanting “Boring, boring!” Ladies and gentlemen, I would imagine that many of you have never wrestled, but a crowd can make a good match great, and a good match poor as well. This is ridiculous!

But back to the action in the ring now, with Rob Van Dam(AJ) applying some stiff forearm shots to Benoit(Grandprix)’s upper head and face, leaving him with nowhere to go but into the ropes, and Van Dam takes advantage by whipping Benoit into the opposite ropes; Benoit comes back, but catches onto RVD’s left arm, hoisting himself onto the shoulders and into a crucifix pin! Here’s the count:

KICK OUT! Far too weak a manoeuvre for Chris Benoit(Grandprix) to even dream of getting a win with. Both men are standing now, though, and Benoit pushes RVD into the ropes, lifting Van Dam over his head with a marvellous back body drop! RVD’s quickly back up, though, and connects with a sterling spinning heel kick! Benoit gets back up and sweeps away Van Dam(AJ)’s legs with his right arm, to which RVD(AJ) replies with a spinning leg sweep, downing Benoit momentarily, but now both are back up again. RVD(AJ) goes for the kick to the mid-section, but Chris Benoit(Grandprix) catches the foot; RVD(AJ) goes for the enziguri, but Benoit ducks; RVD(AJ) tries for the second time with a stiff kick, which Benoit also somehow avoids. Benoit still has the champion’s right leg in his control, and goes for a dragon screw! BUT VAN DAM LANDED ON HIS OTHER LEG! Stunning balance by Van Dam(AJ), but now Benoit flips Van Dam(AJ) overhead, but the champ’s lands on his feet again, BUT BENOIT RIPS HIS HEAD OFF WITH A THUNDEROUS CLOTHESLINE! Good Lord! But RVD(AJ)’s determination is so strong that he’s got right back up! He catches Benoit in a Russian Leg Sweep position, but Benoit counters with a swift snapmare, and locks the champ in a simple rear chin lock.

That move can be very painful, and Chris Benoit(Grandprix) has it locked in on the SRW champion, Ron Van Dam(AJ). RVD(AJ) is searching for a way out, and he finds it by turning all his weight to his right, forcing the Canadian to break the hold. RVD(AJ) takes Benoit’s right arm, whips him but Benoit reverses and throws his opponent to the ropes; gets the head down, but RVD(AJ) rolls off his back (rookie mistake by Benoit, there) and now as the Rabid Wolverine turns to face him, the Canadian throws a punch, which RVD(AJ) ducks through use of the splits, and now wraps himself around Benoit’s legs and rolls back into a Boston Crab! Great technical offence by the SRW champ, there, you got to admit, folks! Like him or hate him, Van Dam(AJ) is a great wrestler, and now Benoit is feeling effects of that submission hold now! Earl Hebner is on the floor, asking Chris Benoit(Grandprix) if he wants to give up, but I don’t think Benoit will give up in this match, let alone so early. Benoit is in pain, though, and must somehow find a way out of this predicament, before he passes out. Benoit’s lifting his body up to get some leverage, and now…he’s struggling to keep his body up…he tucks his head out of the hold and now somehow moves to the side and rolls up Van Dam(AJ):

KICK OUT! RVD(AJ)’ s back up, and rolls Benoit up in an Oklahoma Roll:

KICK OUT! RVD(AJ) ducks under Chris Benoit(Grandprix)’s raising clothesline after getting up again, goes back off the ropes, Benoit launches him into the air, but RVD(AJ) responds with a hurricanrana! He stays for the pin:

KICK OUT! Benoit kicks out forcefully, and now goes behind RVD(AJ), catches his waist, GERMAN SUPLEX! Bridge:

KICK OUT! Van Dam(AJ) leaps onto Benoit, and throws him over with a monkey flip; Benoit back up, hits an arm-drag; RVD(AJ) on his feet, but gets hit with a vociferous hooking clothesline by Benoit! The champ gets on his feet again, and hits a jumping thrust kick from nowhere! Both men down; kip-ups; stand-off! Fantastic technical wrestling by both men, showing that No-DQ doesn’t always mean baseball bats and barbed-wire! The two wrestlers are now stare trying to stare one another out, but I don’t think that’s going to work in this match!

Benoit(Grandprix) and RVD(AJ) tie up again, and Benoit goes up, looking for another crucifix pin, but RVD(AJ)’s trying to counter by spinning around on the spot, and now he’s managed to hoist Benoit onto his shoulders…he backs into a corner and is running towards the other, and plants Benoit with a rolling Samoan Drop! RVD(AJ) rolls through and jumps onto the second rope, AND HITS A BEAUTIFUL MOONSAULT SPLASH! Van Dam(AJ) returns to the corner, and leaps like a cheetah up to the top rope. What’s he planning? He waits for Benoit to get up, and now he launches at Benoit with a sky-high crossbody block! But hold on a second, Benoit has somehow managed to roll backwards, and has now put Van Dam(AJ) in a Longbow Backbreaker! That’s a basic yet incredibly painful stretch that the challenger is applying to the champion, and I wouldn’t be too shocked to see RVD(AJ) tap out to this innovative counter-attack to that usually devastating crossbody by the Battle Creek native. Earl Hebner is on the mat again, asking if RVD(AJ) wants to give this one up, but I’m thinking that he actually might not tap out, considering how proud he is of himself; maybe tapping out to Benoit would damage his ego too much. Anyway, as it is, RVD(AJ) has not tapped out, but the great thing about this move is that the problem of leverage is solved because they have complete control of the person’s body, also while inflicting a harrowing amount of pain on their opponent’s back. RVD(AJ) must find a way out of this pain soon, before it becomes too much, but I don’t know if he can; what can you do to counter the Longbow? RVD(AJ) is struggling at the moment, but now manages to lift himself over Benoit! He’s behind Benoit, and now has grabbed the Crippler’s head and put it into a Camel Clutch! This move can, and probably will be reversed by the technical wizard that is Chris Benoit(Grandprix), but all these submissions are doubtlessly taking their toll on both men. Benoit’s clenching at Van Dam(AJ)’s hands, in an attempt to break the hold, and succeeds, because Van Dam(AJ) has indeed relinquished his grapple of Benoit’s head, but follows up by grasping at Benoit’s wrists, and pulling them back behind his head! Innovative submission wrestling by Rob Van Dam(AJ), not a man you’d usually associate with submission wrestling. RVD(AJ) is stretching Chris Benoit(Grandprix)’s arms above and behind the Canadian’s head, which must be shockingly painful for the challenger to the SRW crown! RVD(AJ) stands up, and now applies a surfboard stretch to Benoit, which is probably quite a big mistake because this is a move that Chris Benoit(Grandprix) could easily get out of…and he does so, by managing to get onto his feet, turning around whilst holding Van Dam(AJ)’s arms, wrapping them around his body, and flipping RVD(AJ) over his head in a tremendous technical flipping suplex! I’m having to create names for these moves on the fly, because these two are doing whatever it takes to get to the very top, and get that belt!

RVD(AJ) tries to run and attack Chris Benoit(Grandprix), but gets a boot to the torso for his troubles. Benoit takes Van Dam(AJ)’s left arm, lifts his right leg over it, and now uses the left leg to slam the champion on his back, right into a Boudoir Armbar! Benoit, like the Rabid Wolverine he is, is ripping and tearing away at that arm, causing Van Dam(AJ) to squirm and struggle with displeasure! I don’t reckon that he’ll tap out to this, but it won’t help his chances at retaining his belt…Van Dam(AJ) is trying to move over to his left, and he’s managed to do it, and now has Benoit at his mercy; OOOH! The crowd didn’t like that a bit! RVD(AJ) just booted Benoit right down below, and now the fans are really ripping into RVD(AJ)!

*Benoit! Benoit! Benoit!*

*R – V – D…SUCKS! R – V – D…SUCKS! R – V – D…SUCKS!*

The fans are throwing all their weight behind Chris Benoit(Grandprix), while RVD(AJ) is just taunting him. RVD(AJ) has now jumped out the ring, and is heading towards the Spanish announcers’ table, no doubt after – yep, it is, it’s a steel chair! Van Dam(AJ) gets back in the ring, and gears up to smash Benoit around the head with the chair – but no, just as Benoit raises his arms to block the shot, RVD(AJ) decides to throw the chair to the Crippler, and goes for the VAN DAMINA- no, Benoit ducks, goes to hit the champ, but Van Dam(AJ) ducks as well, Benoit throws the chair to Van Dam(AJ), leaps for a dropkick, but Van Dam(AJ) smashes Benoit’s legs in mid-air! Good lord! Benoit is writhing in agony on the mat, as RVD(AJ) gears up for another shot, this time to the legs again…he goes for it – CRACK! He hit the mat – Benoit moved! Benoit gets up and DDTS VAN DAM(AJ) ONTO THE CHAIR! The crowd are going crazy after that quick exchange! Benoit crawls over for the cover:

KICK OUT! RVD(AJ) somehow managed to kick out from that devastating DDT onto the chair, but how, we’ll never know! Chris Benoit(Grandprix) gets up gingerly, and drags a groggy champion into the nearest corner, and OUCH! Chops RVD(AJ). OOH! One more time! He whips Van Dam(AJ) across, into the opposite corner, and charges towards the champ, but he gets caught by a boot to the face. He stumbles away, and Van Dam(AJ) jumps to the top rope, but Benoit realises the possible danger, and shoves Van Dam(AJ) out to the concrete floor! The crowd loved that!

*Benoit! Benoit! Benoit!*

Benoit slides to the outside of the ring, to capitalise on RVD(AJ)’s condition, which will be very poor at this moment. Van Dam(AJ) actually landed on the floor, but rolled quickly into a nearby barrier! Benoit picks Van Dam(AJ) up, hangs him on the barrier, and OOH! OH! A couple of strong chops to RVD(AJ)’s chest, and he now whips RVD(AJ) across the floor, towards the other barrier, and chases after the champion, but Van Dam(AJ) leaps onto the guard barrier, and HITS A MOONSAULT PRESS ONTO THE CHARGING BENOIT! Brilliant offence again by the champion, and now you can see why this man was once so popular with our fans. RVD(AJ) returns to the Spanish announcers’ table, grabs a chair, and climbs onto the table itself, waiting with that chair, stalking Benoit. The Crippler gets up, but wanders too close to Van Dam(AJ), allowing the champ to throw that chair to Benoit, and now RVD(AJ) leaps towards Benoit, AND KICKS THE CHAIR INTO BENOIT’S FACE! Benoit collapses to the floor, while RVD(AJ) stands back on the table: R – V – D! That damned taunt! Now Van Dam(AJ) looks back to the fallen Benoit, AND HITS A SOMERSAULT SENTON SPLASH! He front-flipped off the table and landed on Benoit’s left side of the body! What a move! But now he’s dragging Benoit’s body to a clear area, runs back, and front-rolls; ROLLING THUNDER! But Benoit got his knees up, meaning that Van Dam(AJ) landed only on Benoit’s knees, and now Van Dam(AJ) is in great pain! He’s screaming on the floor after that mistake! Benoit’s clearly taken heart from that counter, and is now somehow getting back up, as the fans continue to cheer him on loudly. Benoit grabs RVD(AJ)’s head, pulls him up, and then throws him onto the Spanish announcers’ table…what could he be planning here? Benoit joins Van Dam(AJ) on the table, and now has hooked him up in a suplex position – this could end in tears for both men, ladies and gents. Benoit gets ready, AND SNAP SUPLEXES VAN DAM(AJ)! The table didn’t break, though! Benoit’s noticed this, and has held on to the suplex hold – he gets Van Dam(AJ) up again, and hoists him above his head…he’s just holding him up in the air – tremendous strength by Benoit, but how long can he keep it up? HE DROPS VAN DAM(AJ) ONTO HIS BACK! BUT THE TABLE STILL HASN’T BROKEN! Benoit still keeps RVD(AJ) in the suplex hold, and now he’s lifting Van Dam(AJ) high again! But he’s turned round, AND HITS THE FALCON ARROW THROUGH THE TABLE! That’s extraordinary! Van Dam(AJ) could very well be dead, and Benoit hasn’t come out of this too well, either!

Benoit took a lot of that impact on his tailbone, which is bound to restrict his movement quite a lot, and I’ve no idea what sort of condition RVD is now in. Benoit at least is stirring, but RVD(AJ) is not moving a bit. I think we may have a situation here, ladies and gentlemen. We’ve got a few referees coming down to the ring, led by Earl Hebner again, who are now sifting through the wreckage of this devastation. They’ve got RVD(AJ) out, and Benoit is actually moving on his own, but I’m not sure if this match can go on, folks, I’m sad to say. But wait, Benoit’s hammering on RVD(AJ)! Huge rights and lefts and rights and lefts are coming down on RVD(AJ)’s head and shoulders, and the crowd are cheering Benoit on! Van Dam(AJ) can barely defend himself, and Chris Benoit(Grandprix) is taking full advantage of this opening, as he throws the champion back into the ring! The crowd are chanting for the challenger, as he covers the fallen Van Dam(AJ):

Thr-KICK OUT! Benoit almost had it! You can hardly come any closer to winning the match without a full 3 count than that! How did Van Dam(AJ) do it? Unbelievable displays of wrestling here, everybody! I’m totally amazed at the ability of these men to absorb just about everything they’ve thrown at each other! Benoit seems to have mostly recovered from that shocking suplex series through the table, and now picks Van Dam(AJ) up, and hits a scoop slam! Benoit walks away, towards the corner, and cuts his throat: we all know what that means! Benoit climbs the turnbuckles, up to the top, but this was a big mistake, because that scoop slam may not be enough to keep Van Dam(AJ) down…yep, RVD(AJ) runs to the top, grabs Benoit’s neck, AND HITS A TOP-ROPE DIAMOND CUTTER! Benoit’s neck may be broken after that shocking move from the top there! RVD(AJ) crawls slowly over to the body of the potentially paralysed Benoit, and gets an arm across the chest:

KICK OUT! How did Chris Benoit(Grandprix) manage to escape from that pin? I seriously envy both men’s stamina and their thresholds for pain, but this match is still not over yet! RVD(AJ) has managed to get up, but is groggy and stumbling about, whereas Chris Benoit(Grandprix) is still down on the mat, but is coming to now. Earl Hebner helps Benoit up, and then goes over to check if RVD(AJ) can still carry on. RVD(AJ) slinks out of the ring, and goes underneath the mat, looking for another foreign object, and he’s gone for…a table! He pushes it in the ring, but goes back under the ring for…another table! He pushes this one in the ring as well, and follows it in. Benoit still hasn’t really taken any notice of this, but RVD(AJ) comes across and kicks him hard in the stomach, before laying Benoit on an unset-up, flat table. Van Dam(AJ) goes back across, and puts the other flat table on top of Benoit. RVD(AJ) runs across the ring, bounces off the ropes, and wait a second…HITS A ROLLING THUNDER ON BENOIT! Benoit was sandwiched in between those two tables, and RVD(AJ) crushed him underneath them! RVD(AJ), although affected by the Rolling Thunder, is back up and is dragging the Benoit-table sandwich into the centre of the ring…he’s leapt up to the top rope, and goes for THE FIVE-STAR FROG SPLASH! NO! BENOIT ESCAPED FROM THE TABLES! RVD(AJ) crashed onto the tables, and now he surely can’t take much more! Benoit hooks the leg:

*Lights go out*

Wait a second! What the hell’s this? Hang on, there are blue spotlights going around the arena, and ‘Daydream in Blue’ is playing over the speakers…WHAT THE…? The bWo logo is on the ReserveTron! And here are Jericho, the Powers That Be, and LL Cool TT! The Powers That Be are in tracksuit bottoms, a bWo shirt, and their faces are covered with hoods and masks! They’re in the ring, and are being tracked by those blue spotlights – they’re beating up Chris Benoit(Grandprix)! They’re all punching Benoit in the face, but Benoit’s fighting back with punches and chops and slaps- SMACK! One of the Powers That Be hit a Superkick to Benoit, right on his chin! Benoit’s down, and getting pummelled by all four of these guys, and now Rob Van Dam(AJ)’s joining in on the fun! The Powers That Be are dragging Benoit up, but Chris Benoit(Grandprix) is fighting back! He hits a slap to LL Cool TT, a low blow to one of the PTB, a chop to RVD(AJ), and an eye rake to Jericho. Benoit goes and fetches a chair, which is hard as the arena is in darkness apart from those blue lights, and throws it to one of the PTB, AND DROPKICKS IT IN HIS FACE! RVD(AJ) notices this and charges at Benoit, but BENOIT CATCHES THE ARM INTO A CROSSFACE- BUT RVD(AJ) ROLLED OUT OF IT! Tremendous counter by Van Dam(AJ), who gets another chair, throws it to Benoit, AND HITS THE VAN DAMINATOR! Benoit falls back, but his neck is caught by the other PTB wrestler, looks like a reverse DDT, BUT IT’S A REVERSE TWIST OF FATE! Benoit is dying in front of us all, ladies and gentlemen! Jericho has crawled out of the ring, and is searching for something underneath the squared circle – oh no, it’s a C4 BOARD! It’s a board layered with C4 explosives and barbed-wire! This is too sickening for words! Jericho positions it near a corner, and shows Van Dam(AJ). RVD(AJ) tells LL Cool TT and the standing PTB member something, and now LL has Benoit’s legs, and the PTB member has the arms – they’re not…they’ve suspended him above the board! Van Dam(AJ) has jumped to the top rope, and now – FIVE-STAR FROG SPLASH!

*Huge explosion* BOOM!!!!

That board exploded on Benoit’s back, catapulting both Benoit and Van Dam(AJ) into the air! The lights are back on in the arena now, so we can properly see what’s going on, but it doesn’t seem as though Van Dam(AJ) is finished yet! He’s telling Jericho and both PTB members, as well as LL Cool TT, to get something by the look of it. All but RVD(AJ) and Benoit are out the ring now, but Jericho has a ladder, and the other three all have at least two chairs, with LL Cool TT carrying three. They all dump their stuff in the ring, before getting Benoit up, and throwing him down in the corner. Van Dam(AJ) sets up that ladder near the centre of the ring, while the others bury Chris Benoit(Grandprix) under a mountain of chairs. That’s seven chairs that are covering Benoit now, and the group consolidate once more, as their apparent leader, Rob Van Dam(AJ), tells them what to do. LL Cool TT have gone to both adjacent turnbuckles to Benoit, while RVD(AJ) climbs the ladder. The Powers That Be hold that ladder in place for Van Dam(AJ), and now that he’s got to the top, Jericho and LL Cool TT leap to the top ropes that they are standing near; RVD(AJ)’s shouting something at them- what are they doing? RVD(AJ)’s counting down for them - 3, 2, 1 – they jump up – TRIPLE VAN TERMINATOR! OOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHH MYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY GGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOODDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD!

RVD(AJ) covers Benoit:

One

Two

Three! RVD(AJ) has won! Dammit! RVD has beaten Chris Benoit(Grandprix)! Those Powers That Be, Y2J and LL Cool TT all are accessories to that crime that we just saw perpetrated in front of us! Benoit’s been screwed, and now RVD(AJ) is calling for a mike (just what we need)…

RVD: You all saw it! You ALL saw it! That’s the end for Chris Benoit’s title hopes, and the end of his career! Your champion is still Rob – Van – Dam! But tonight wasn’t just the end of Chris’ career, it was so much more. The continuation of my reign. And the beginning of a new era in SRW…one of doom, dominance and hardship…this is the beginning of the new era of…the blue – World – order!

*Powers That Be remove their masks and hoods*

What the hell?! That’s Stevie Richards, and the other one’s – it can’t be…it’s Steve Corino! And now Jericho, LL and RVD(AJ) are putting on bWo shirts as well! Oh my God…what does this all mean..?

***
And so the bWo is finally formed. A new faction is born, but no new champ tonight.

Wow, awesome stuff...I can't say much that hasn't already been said, but your innovative and brutal style has really lit up SRW...I love the bWo idea too, brings in some wrestlers that deserve to be used but aren't into a big faction, possibly the biggest yet with the SRW Champion as well...

Obviously, it was full of some top wrestling action from both the greats both inside and outside, and was definitely worthy of the main event here at Burnout. Fantastic way to finish it all of, can't wait to see what happens with the bWo, Benoit (Grandprix) and so on.

Congrats to AJ as RVD, he's defended both his World Titles here at Burnout.

Fantastic LL. {:)

Hmm, you've got me all curious now. Hit us with the idea, but I don't think that this rival will be enough to stop Steve Corino, Stevie Richards, LL Cool TT, Jericho, and the SRW Champion, RVD...just watch what we've got in store for this promotion!

Wow, that was, err, shall we say, stunning. :-)

Kept me glued all the way through, with solid in-ring action, brilliantly brutal effects throughout and The Powers That Be finally getting revealed. A great match, and what a way to build up an even more in-depth feud between RVD and Benoit.

And I won - YeY!

Splendiferotastic. :-D

Great match, LL! The Blue World Order? That alliance is gonna be a force to be reconned with in SRW! All ive got to say for them though is that they may have a new rival returning to SRW next week...I have an idea!

I liked the brutality of that match. I couldn't believe what I was reading when the BWO got the C4 explosives involved in the whole thing! It makes me wonder whats gonna happen to Benoits future in SRW! WoW!

Anyway, well done to LL Cool TT and also to RVD for retaining his title even though he had much help with it! :D

Wow. That was one long match! I enjoyed it, from the start until the finish. Lots of near counts, which kept me on the edge of my swivelly chair. That was one heck of a formation for bWo, and a nice new faction to bring some new ideas into SRW. Well done dude and well done Joefro.

WOW! A truly amazing match there LL Cool, I kept losing where I was as the match was so long, which was a good thing seeing as it was a Main Event. There was many great spots and loads of twists which kept me reading on further. Top stuff indeed.

And we also saw the birth of the bWo, who were mainly the Powers that Be, who had caused devastation in SRW for months.

Also, Congrats to AJ as RVD who is still the SRW World Champion and congrats also to LL Cool TT on a super match.

One

Two

One

Two

Bridge:

Two

One
