everytime i watch a film or video clip it goes black near the end of it.

Sounds like an incomplete file to me, that's usually what you get if the file cut out before the end. Try re-downloading it?
well,i downloaded a nike advert. the advert is 1:38 , it tends to just go black at around 1:11, and at this point edgar davids is doing some skill so it wont just finish there. There is still sound tho, the picture just goes black
Are you sure that 'near to the end' doesn't mean 'the end?'

Could you maybe have something set so that it fades out at the end.
