Charlton boss Alan Curbishley has been named the Barclaycard Manager of the Month for February.

The Addicks supremo scooped the award on the back of a six-match unbeaten run, which includes a club record five successive Premiership wins.

Charlton are now in the hunt for Champions League qualification after winning all three league games in February, away to Sunderland and at home to Everton and Aston Villa.

The Barclaycard Awards Panel said: "Alan Curbishley has made a name for himself as a manager who gets results with limited resources and this season is no exception.

"Charlton are currently sixth in the Barclaycard Premiership two points ahead of Liverpool, a great achievement for the manager and the club and they no doubt have one eye on European qualification."

Gary Megson (WBA) refused to receive this reward last season in Division 1, and never got cursed. West Brom later pipped Wolves for Automatic Promotion.

Yeah, it cursed Villa when they were in 6th place last season. We went 12-13 games without a win going into 15th place. But after that we were okay and finished 8th.
