OK so there is a bit of WWF mania going on at the moment. And as WWF is a hot
topic at the moment I have an idea for a game. Not a beat'em up or racing or
RPG, but a strategy??? Bare with me here, basically for those that watch this
WWF it is basically a soap opera with feuds, suprises, twists etc. So I was
thinking of a game where you make the feuds, suprises and twists. Think of it
instead of watching WWF....you could create the WWF!

Basically the aim of the game is to get top of the TV viewing chart. Every
week or two you get to see where the WWF (or maybe you call it something else)
is in the chart. You start at the bottom with 0% viewing. Then you use money
to build a stadium. Once your stadium is made you need wrestlers. So you can
choose non-listed wrestlers (straight out the powerplant), listed wrestlers that
are unhappy elsewhere or head hunt the big stars and offer them loads of cash.

So you got a staduim and some wreslter, but now you need referees (again the
same applies as with wrestlers). Then youn need to draw the big crowds in, so
maybe some publicity or adverts are needed. Then you keep expanding until a
TV event. Then you get the roster put in front of you and you arrange the
matches (all in WWF, WCW, EEW included + new ones to unlock) Then you can
choose to have a brawl or fight backstage etc. Once you got the card sorted,
you can start changing it by adding interferences, twists, suprises etc.

Then once you have tweaked your event to your liking, you can see the results of
the event to make sure everyone did their part and there are no serious injuries.

The reason for having these results is to see if a wrestler is unhappy, say at
loosing their belt or injured after a bad fall. Then if there is any
"unprofessional" behaviour occuring you take action and fine, suspend or even
sack them. Basically I'm thinking of WWF meets a football management simulator.

One thing I'd like to see in any game is the choose a superstar aspect. I'd
have a screen to allow the player to change the No 1 superstar each month. So
when you've got a large number of wrestlers. You then give them gimmicks when
they sign on, aswell as names and other details. Then every month you can choose
a wrestler to be seen as the No 1 man in the company. For example, in January
you make The Rock the No 1 wreslter and watch as the money comes in from sales
and appearences. Then in Feb people have stopped buying the Rock's merchandise,
so Hippo Man (made up by the way) then is chosen as No 1 wrestler. I think the
game would be better if each wrestler was rated and if you didn't choose the
highest rated wrestler as the the No 1 then you'd loose money and possibly
vital viewing rates.

As in WWF (and the rest) the No 1 wrestler would be the one that all the other
big stars are after in TV events. If the player catches on to this and creates
massive feuds between the no 1 wrestler and others then viewing rates goes up and
the money comes in to buy new wrestlers, satisfy existing ones and even train new
ones.

I'd imagine this on the PC or DC, because I'd like to see downloads available.
Maybe new wrestlers that appear over the next years or even an online (or ingame)
create a wrestler. I'd also like storylines to be downloadable (maybe the real WWF
current storyline) I think that as in the actual wrestling programmes you (the
manager, promoter, writer, etc etc) can side with a wrestler and "rig" matches
to get your chosen star to the top. Maybe this will please the viewers, maybe not
it's all about planning your events and then PPV's to bring in the cash and the
viewer ratings. Once you're at the top of the TV viewing chart, then maybe new
extras can be downloaded, like new matches (or they could be downloadable) Maybe a
create a ring option where you can modify the existing one (add barbed wire or
something), or even make a circular cage (pointless, but fun!)

Anyway these are just ideas I'm kicking around in my head.....so what d'ya think???
