What do you think has gone wrong with Liverpool. Once top of the Premiership, now floundering in 7th place. This is not good, but why has it happened? Is it our rubbish and innefective summer signings, our lack of width, lack of confidence, Michael Owen's inability to score...(I could go on forever!)I am a Liverpool supporter!
I'm a huge Liverpool fan, and I'm bitterly disappointed...people say Owen has played badly, and he has missed chances, but he's still scored 17 goals this season.
I think it comes down to midfield. Gerrard, Murphy, Hamann and even Diao are the same type of player - Smicer is a waste of time usually, Cheyrou hasn't settled and...well, we've had Diouf, Riise and Heskey all play midfield at some point.
The defence has been a little scratchy but still impressive, and we didn't have a keeper problem till Kirkland was injured.
We need more width, confidence and perhaps a little more flair, methinks.

Well, it's not always the manager who 'has to get things right', the players must respond to him - Houllier can use all the best tactics in the world but if players like Owen are missing easy chances then how can the manager control that?

If we were to bring anyone in, it would have to be O'Leary. But Houllier will get things right. Trust me on that one.

Get some wingers and that should sort some problems out. This isn't 1970 anymore, the long ball game doesn't work especially not with Owen going through a *couldn't smack a barn door with a banjo* period and Heskey ........... well just Heskey in general, it just doesn't work.
