We use to think pirates were all in the past. Not so, they are alive and well. First it started with fishermen attacking boats and getting them to return the fish that they claim as their own. Now they just want money and lots of it. No not the gold shiny stuff but money transferred electronically into bank accounts. :/
It seems giving into their demands and handing over millions of dollars just encourages them even more.
The only way we're going to stop these pirates is by hiring ninjas but we can't seem to find them.

Or deliberately send out a ship full of something worth a lot of money and ensure that it has GPS tracking devices fitted to the crates or in the goods, then negotiate for hostages, get them freed, follow the pirates and pounce.
