What the hell was the point of over 30 games being released with the PS2 when f*** all people will have the privelage of owning the console? It wouldn't have mattered. It wouldn't have mattered if half these games weren't complete rehashes and reheats of popular Playstation 1 franchises but we all know the truth. People aren't stupid and neither are retailers. It wouldn't surprise me if half of these 30 or so will be impossible to track down in high street stores. The upshot being that the publishers get their fingers well and truly burnt and gamers will be left feeling like they've been conned into buying marginally prettier versions of games they've already bought once. How does the saying go? Its quality not quantity. Maybe Sony should have looked more carefully at the former with regards to games, and pulled its finger out on the latter point in terms of the number of Playstation 2s available? Of course I hope the PS2 will be a success in the future, but for me the general feeling is that Sony have let everyone down. Everyone from the top to the bottom of the industry is grateful for the spectacular success of PS1 but yet again complacency sets in, cats get fat and we're in the situation now where everyone has put all the eggs in the Sony basket. What's going to happen if PS2 falls flat on its face? Unless Sony can ramp up production, get the price down, and get some must have titles out there for their machine fast, we could be about to witness the biggest mess up in the history of the videogames industry. I sincerly hope I'm wrong.........

i tink PS2 may have similar problems like the N64 has had. Many developers did not make games for the 64 becasue it was so hard to develop for. I've heard developers are finding it hard to develop games for the PS2 and that games are taking longer to produce. Also the games are only running at about 5 million polygons per second compared to the fony figures given by sony. Gamecube is winning the support of many developers and games take half the time to make. It is very easier to program for, nintendo have leanred their lesson. Gamecube is gonna be massive
