That's right Top of the Pops will be back on our TV screens at Christmas. I think it's nice having it on at Christmas, certainly seems part of my family's traditional Christmas: whilst dinner is prepared TOTP is on in the background.

Also the BBC are airing the first ever New Year's Eve TOTP, which will look back over the year's hits. Again could be a nice idea.

"The BBC said, however, the show would not be returning for a regular series. "

Would anyone here tune in to watch the classic show?

christmas totp usually contains really awful songs and is a disappointment at christmas. I will ease the pain by shooting zombies in l4d.

I believe they had done a new years eve version of totp way back in 1999 to celebrate the millenium or something.

Dr Who has replaced The Snowman as the Christmas tradition :)

We had 7 of us watching it last Christmas. Its so popular that it gets put on the internet straight away and families in America watch it Christmas day too.

I heard about this on Radio 1 on the way to work this morning, probably wont bother watching it though as the show will be full of the current pish that floods the charts.
