This film is totally overhyped. The film is not scary. Not once did I jump or even flinch throughout the film. There were no parts that got my adrenaline going. Those that got close to this point were over too quickly, such as the scene where Samara crawls out of the TV in Noah's appartment. Also, there are many plot holes throughout the film and many visible mistakes and things that just didn't make sense:
- What idiot would leave the Ring video just lying around in the apartment for her son to pick up and watch? Any sensible person would put it away under lock and key.
- In the scene where she is in the library, it is easily noticable that the page she is looking at is a pre-made HTML document, not actually a website.
- Technically, nobody has seen the ring, since the cover of the well, when pulled over, does not create the full image of a ring.
- When Aidan watches the tape, it's different to when Rachel watches it.
- If they knew the time that they would die, why not set up a video to record your death as evidence?
- If Samara only comes out of TVs, why not go somewhere where there is no TV? In this naff version, she only comes out of TVs, but in the superior Japanese version, she can come out of any reflective surface - water, mirriors etc.
Very disappointing - 4/10.
Mudda.

Although I didn't pay 'that' much attention to those little things you picked out!
Good review though.
Tsk tsk.
Also did anyone notice the boom mic in practically EVERY shot!? In some places it was so bad that the whole cinema burst out laughing. We purposefully watched the credits to find out who he was and the culprit for such shokcing boom mic work is Knox Graham White. Destroy him.
