The question on special observe made me think about this a little more. What is your favourite place?
Without much thought certain places come to mind straight away. Bed seems like a favourite amoung some but they aren't thinking hard enough.

I've been to quite a few cool places in my time. Washington DC was cool during the summer. France/spain on holidays were always good. Home is another favourite choice as "there's no place like home"

But home only seems to feel really special when you aren't there or have been away for a while.

But there is one place that I think is great. When I was younger I went on a school trip with a group of friends and a couple of teachers to do watersports at Loch Lommond, sitting on the banks everything there is calm and quiet.
One night after kayaking(sp?) we had a fire on the beach, sat around with my mate playing guitar just having a laugh.
This ruled so much.
So where is your favourite place and why? Go on give it some thought.

Salzburg is the most beautiful city I have ever been to. And probably one of the strangest too-they have painted plaster mould cows all over the place and no one in the city could tell me why. Weird but intruiging....

Second to that would have to be the Aran Islands off the west coast of Ireland, very peaceful.

Home would be near the bottom of my favourite place list.

My back garden leads onto a forrest like this.
Squirels and deers are always around the garden in hunt for food.
I spend most of my childhood playing in these forrests and it was great. Can see easily why the place you mention is your fav place.
Haven't been in the forrest for ages but can remember everything about it.

Favourite Place: My home. Everything I need is here - a bed, a computer and an extensive pornography collection :P

A nameless wood about five miles from where I live.
In the autumn the leaves of the trees are golden. In spring it's deck is laden with bluebells. There's a still woodland pool and the ruin of an old house at its heart. This nameless wood is my favourite place.

And I am thinking hard enough, thank you very much. That brief moment when you wake up on a weekend, without an alarm, drifting gently towards consciousness. Before any thoughts of the day ahead intrude, there's just you, complete relaxation and cosy comfort.

Pure hedonistic bliss.

I'm not that well travelled, but I have to say Henley-On-Thames. It has loads of old independant shops to wander round.

I love Orlando. When we were there on holiday last year it was so cool to sit sheltered outside in the dark while there was a thunderstorm, we were really close to a wildlife protected area as well, so you would hear the noises of the animals, and then there would be a crack of thunder, and then complete silence.

A place I went a few years ago - Brittas Bay - a huge beach, miles long, golden sand, warm blue water and NO PEOPLE!! It was amazing. I went back there last Summer and alot of the sand was gone and alot of rubbish and seaweed had washed up, making it nowhere near as nice as it was. I think it's sad how mankind can spoil some of the nicest places imaginable in a short time.
