There are strong rumours that WWE will go to a new format after Wrestlemania, further seperating the two brands. As it stands RAW will be getting 4 PPV's per year solely for their brand and Smackdown! will be getting 4 as well. Those PPV's have not yet been determined, but it is thought that Wrestlemania, Survivor Series, Summer Slam, and The Royal Rumble will be both brands PPV.
It is not certain that these changes will take place, but there are strong indications that this could be the case starting after Wrestlemania.
In essence, each brand will have 8 PPV's per year and any cross promotion between the two brands will be eliminated.

I knew the crowd wouldn't want Steiner vs HH again, and they showed that at NWO. The writers' ignorance is unbelievable. It's in Canada, why not have Jericho vs HHH? The ultimate heel vs heel main event, would have ruled.

No, I don't think it does. Ok business is in a bit of a lull at the moment and everything is a little bit dull, but it's not the under-carders fault. Give them a decent storyline and they will grow to be over with the fans. Sack the writers, a 5 year old could do better than they are at the moment.

SmackDown has been relying on the Guerreros, Team Angle, Mysterio, Edge and Benoit lately. It's undercard is too weak to sufficiently carry a PPV.
Raw's main event is always dominated by HHH, which means that it cannot carry a PPV, either. Until he is deposed, Raw's PPVs will not be successful. The undercard is the most excitnig bit of Raw, though, and would make good watching, but possibly not worthy of an entire PPV.

Yea that's my thinking as well. Whenever i think of Smackdown i just think of Lesnar, Angle, Edge, Rey Rey, Benoit, Undertaker and the big show and that's usually it for the feuds. Well with the Los Guerroroes (sp?) thrown in occasionally.
RAW on the other hand has Booker, Dudley Boyz, Kane, maybe Austin when he comes back if HHH can stay out the politics backstage, HHH, Steiner RVD, Jericho, Christian, Test, Batista etc etc.
Raw has more variety so you wouldn't get the same matches PPV after PPV you would get with Smackdown. Just my opinion anyway
