Half time and so far it's

Man Utd 1 - 0 Juventus and
FC Basle 1 - 0 Deportivo La Coruna

Things can't really get much better at the moment with United taking the 3 points from Juve and Basle doing us a favour and taking 3 away from our other main rival in the group. If it stays like this until full time i'll be very happy.

Totally agree Solksjaer. When O'Shea came on it looked like a whole different United, one that actually went up to attack. He deserves a long run in the first team definitly

I agree, O'Shea was excellant, got Van Nistelrooy into the game and brought all the team back into it when Juve was getting close to scoring.

I think John O'Shea is like the new Forlan:
Everytime he gets the ball, the crowd gets right behind him, urging him on, giving him the confidence and boost he needs to amaze us all!
I expect him to grab a goal-or-two soon.

And when he got that first header on-goal, I just somehow KNEW that Wes Brown would get the first-goal of the game, even before we got that second corner. And when the ball went in, I didn't cheer or anything.

Wierd... I must be psychic!?

But when van Nistelrooy's went in, I went mad! :D
Superb ball from Beckham over-the-top, and there was "Van the Man" to just dink it over the 'keeper! I laughed when he threw his shirt into the crowd after scoring too: "You're never getting that back!!" I shouted. :)

And that damn refferee -- YET AGAIN!!!
If I hate anything as-much-as the English FA, or Arsenal, then it's a refferee - otherwise known as HIM!

Kimberly Milton Neilsen... If I ever meet that long-necked freak walking down the street in Denmark sometime, he'd better how I don't notice him!!!
I'll never forget that game against Leverusen from last season!
That ONE game stands-out from all the rest he's reffed in.

Good win though, although we really should've wrapped-it-up long-before van Nistelrooy's goal, and that Penalty incident...
I don't care what anyone says about Scholes having a great chance, football doesn't always go YOUR-way, ref - and Scholes proved that last-night by hitting the post. He should've just pointed to the spot and sent the 'keeper off - no matter what. And I've seen vastly-delayed descisions given before, anyway.

But at least we won.
How can we NOT qualify for the Quarter Finals now??!!

Indeed he was, I would like to see him play more regularly in the first team and to be honest G.Neville isn't really up to it at the moment.

Good to see Brown score at the right end in a Champions League match for a change.

O'Shea was fantastic when he came on too.

It's funny, but you rarely see a quickly taken corner like the one United scored from first of all.

(Three different points in three sentences. Hmmm)

Juventus'll beat Man U in Turin.

They'll have loads of players back (Buffon, Zambrotta, Salas and Thuram namely), and they're in front of their own crowd this time.

And they didn't actually play that badly tonight really - Tacchinardi, Davids, Nedved and Camoranesi (their midfield :-D) were good.

Only need a point apparantly in Turin and then we'll definitly be in the quarter finals. Shouldn't be too hard.

Ah well it's finished, 3 points and thats all that matters at this stage.
5 points clear of Juve at the top and thats fine by me. I was concerned about this home tie because it's a fact that we play better away than at OT and so soon after the Arsenal game we needed a confidence boost and hopefully we'll go to turin on Tuesday and get something.
