As part of our rollout plans for new Freeola services, Freeola Broadband ADSL customers can now add MySQL database functionality to their account.

You can have unlimited tables on your database and web-based administration in the form of PHPMyAdmin is supplied. You can also use your own SQL client providing you are using your Freeola Broadband ADSL connection.

Phase 2 is to offer the service to 0845 Dial-Up customers and work is underway to provide this.

As with all Freeola services, just visit the Control Panel to add the service.

Mess - We're working on that right now - shouldn't be more than a month but no promises.

cjh - Yes, Webmail as you describe.

cjh - Thanks for the autoresponder ideas - we are working on that but a new mail server upgrade stands between us doing that - it shouldn't be too long before the new mail servers come online though.

cjh - The idea about the catch-all address - this will definitely be part of our new paid hosting product - not sure yet whether we can offer this on standard.

Danny

when will MYSQL be available for dial-up users? Because I need to know whether to transfer my domain or not.

Oh, and what about:

Auto-responders - whenever someone sends an E-mail to a particular address (or any address) on your Freeola account, we can have a reply sent out.

Default address - just incase someone tries to send an E-mail to [email protected] when they ment [email protected], rather than have it sent back as undelivered because the address doens't exist, have it instead delivered to the default address. This would only work for people who own their own Domain Names.

Have you considered these as a posibilty? And if you haven't, would you?

I'm pleased to report that Webmail is on the way in the near future as well, probably as a free service for Freeola Broadband ADSL users and a small charge for 0845 dial-up users.

Yes this will be a paid for service, but you are going to have to wait for the details as to how much this is going to be from Danny once he/they have worked out all of the details.

Would this involve some sort of monthly fee?

Hey AMD_MAN,

Yes, we are currently developing an exceptional value personal hosting service which will allow you all the facilities of Freeola and a whole lot more without being tied to the Freeola connection (you can be anywhere in the world via any connection and access things).

And yeah, I actually live in Paignton myself and turn up week in week out to see the mighty Gulls!
