Shockwaves can still be felt around the world after this weekend saw the unveiling of what is going to be the most powerful games console on earth(XBOX)when it is released in America later this year and early 2002 in Europe.
Bill Gates did a fine job of showing off his new piece of hardware with wwf superstar the Rock there to show his support for the new console.
It is almost 3 times as powerful as the PS2 with an outstanding 733mhz of power. With that amount of power how can it be beaten. In every aspect Xbox comes out tops compared to the PS2. It can do 75 million more pollygons per sec than the PS2.It has a 8gb hard drive and it also comes with 100mb broadband connections.
Pretty impressive isnt it!
I know that power doesnt make a great console its the games
but with over 200 companies making games for xbox its going to be an explosive release lineup.
The only main rival i can see is the Gamecube because going off nintendos track record they always come up with something unique.
This time round though they are going to have a lot harder job of leading the video games war because this time they have PS2 and Xbox to contend with

yes, but in an attempt to make the xbox look 'cool' Bill Gates did a high five with his partner on stage. That really killed the show. PlayStation®2 :) is already 'cool' because of Sony's excellent marketing of the unit. So Mr Sony doesn't need to go on stage an make himself look like a total geek.
Unfortunately the Xbox does have a 'Geek' feel to it.
