I have the typical Robotics 56k modem which came pre-installed on my computer, but I remember when buying my PC that it was a Fax/voice modem and I was wondering if it is possible to send someone a fax by using an attached scanner? Or... simply fax a document already on my desktop. Can it be done? Or does a Fax/voice modem just mean I need to attached a great big fax machine to my computer for it to work?
The reason why I need to use a fax machine badly is because I've requested a refund from ebay-UK and the only way to get my money back is to print out a form from their site and then fax them it back. Or print out the form and then send it to America! All the way to America! It would probably cost me the refundable amount just to send the letter.

Yeah you need fax software, either from Microsoft or otherwise. I remember mine was called CaptureFax, it showed up as a printer. See if you have it. Else, you'll have to try and acquire some.
